Great series I'd encourage people to try out, but I'm not sure you should start with 3.
They are already working on the third part, so I don't think it will be affected in the short term at least. And I think that if other JRPGs can survive with far lower sales (like Persona 3 Reload and Yakuza Infinite Wealth) it should be okay. And those two games were considered successful and were multiplatform on day one too.
It was first in the February PS Store charts:

And still 3rd in the March charts.
"Although physical disc spending has continued to slip since 2021, the rate of the decline had slowed. Between 2021 and 2022, spending declined by 4% to £496 million but between 2022 and 2023, spending declined by just 2% to £487 million."
Good news.
@ VersusDMC: We still don't know how it did with digital included though.
@ shinoff: the double pack was digital only right? So no, it isn't included in those numbers.
Yeah it looks like it did well worldwide, at least the charts that I've seen (Europe, UK, US). And also the PlayStation Store download charts. But they haven't announced any hard numbers yet.
Rebirth sold 310,596 copies. Other notable games that came out in that period: Princess Peach Showtime! (104,820 copies), Rise of the Ronin (84,785 copies), Dragon's Dogma 2 (PS5 version) (77,764 copies) and Unicorn Overlord (Switch version) (61,954 copies). Of course these are physical copies only, which is always the case with Famitsu sales.
It also beat Dragon's Dogma 2 in the first two weeks of their release in Europe: https://www.gamesindustry.b...
And that was multiplatform too.
Rare to see more PS5 than Switch games in the top 5.
"Dead Space dominated post-holiday sales | January 2023 NPD" https://venturebeat.com/gam...
What kind of sales were they expecting if this isn't good enough?
Obscure you can post all sorts of theories but at the end of the day the article states Rebirth has performed strongly, and you wrote that it did poorly. The opposite of what the article literally says. That's what It was responding to.
"I didn´t said those games flopped. But it´s obvious that *right now* both games aren´t doing better than its predecessors in sales."
You said the game was doing poorly, while this article literally says it's performing strongly. I guess you also missed the part of the article where it said the PS5 was comfortably number 1 in March.
"Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth also perform[s] strongly"
But yeah, it's obvious you live in your own little world, far removed from reality.
Great! Seems like that demo did a lot of good.
I hope people will support this game and show that gamers agree.
Main story is 17 hours average according to Howlongtobeat (429 people polled). Even if you look at 'rushed' and main story only it's still 12 hours at least. So 10 hours is bs.

I'll wait and see for now, good chance it'll be ported to PS5 in the future. Maybe it can also get a physical version when that happens, like with Pentiment, Grounded and Hifi Rush.
