I don't know what their reasoning is in this case, but I still get ads on Twitter about Microsoft purchasing Bethesda. Such a weird thing to advertise IMO. Obviously it gets people's attention, but just seems odd.
Games with Gold value has really gone down hill. Obviously they are trying every possible avenue to push users to GamePass.
Game looks cool, but could anyone else barely distinguish half of what the narrator was saying? Or is it just my hearing? The distorted/low voice is overplayed IMO but I get it fits the theme of the game.
The fact that they don't lower the price of their games, and Nintendo fans say, "It's because the games are so good!", just makes me cringe. Sure, they make some really good games, but that doesn't mean they should never come down in price. Others make great games too, and I can get them on sale after a year or so for $10-$20. I have a switch, and Mario Kart is one of my favorite series, but I still haven't bought MK8, simply out of principle. Nintendo is the most an...
A bit odd that they announced this now instead of waiting for E3 time. They could have announced this and multiplayer (maybe?) and made a bigger splash.
@TheRealTedCruz I guess from the trailers I've seen of this, it has looked very similar. I haven't looked in depth into it. I get Dead Nation mixed with Alienation vibes.
I know it won't happen, but I'm hoping for a GTA set in London, written by Guy Ritchie.
Nah, the game looks cool. Very reminiscent of older Housemarque games. If you're into these types and ever get a PS, try some of them out, they're great.
This is great! I bought the game a couple months ago at Best Buy, but was waiting on a PS5 patch. I can't believe it's been 10 years since I've played it. Damn I'm old.
I feel like games have been coming out at a steady rate, not sure what they expect.
Well. It's hard to argue with that.
The red ps4 controller I REALLY liked. Not the newer version, but the one that had the contrast with the red and black.
Aside from the fact that Tencent scares the shit out of me, I'm interested in what happens here.
Great to have the options, though in the cases of 4k vs 900p, I don't think I can bring myself to do the lower resolution.
@Tacoboto The key is that Sony uses MTX sparingly, whereas Microsoft added them to Doom Eternal just months after their acquisition went through. After it had been promised by Bethesda that would never happen to the game.
Buying up one of the largest publishers is the opposite of competitive. Though I agree, having Microsoft around is obviously good for the industry as a whole (unless they keep buying).
Sometimes I sit back and try to imagine what they could have done if they invested $8 billion in organic studio development. How many jobs would that have added to the industry? There's loads of developers out there that want good paying jobs, and Microsoft could have supplied them.
@Finding I thought you were talking about the Ubisoft article directly, hence my confusion. I did see those numbers the other day from RE. It will be interesting to see how that trends in the future.
@Finding Am I missing something? Where do you see the 4x more?
Neither Sony or Microsoft are blameless on the matter. Both of them blocked it when they were in the lead, and both wanted it when they were behind. The biggest reason to not allow it is because it disincentivizes the consumer from switching consoles to play with their friends. If the deciding factor for buying a console no longer has to be "All my friends play on the ______", then the console manufacturer is losing out on customers and future games revenue.

In another one of the slides it also shows that the revenue from Console sales as a proportion of the total has dropped from about 50% during the start of the PS4 generation to just 20% now. Obviously they still need consoles because they take their own cut from all games on the PS Store, but software sales are becoming increasingly important.
