Even when I try to be fair, I just can help but see that in their view, the fps to buy in feb 08 is Fear 2.
Though I can't judge sp gameplay at the moment, in at least two departments, the difference is staggering. visual and sound design. And what I played before of the multiplayer, K2 is pretty damn good. So basically, Edge is telling me that the core single player is pretty bog standard borin...
My biggest problem with it has always been the imbalance of opinion versus fact. In Science, one offers his theories as demonstrable facts, which is then taken to peer review, and that peer review decides whether those theories are demonstratable facts.

I think a lot more ps3 users might have bought the game if the whole dlc thing wasn't aimed at the x360 audience. its off puting more then anything.
And uncharted probably had a big effect. naughty dog pretty much nailed the genre.

Gamasutra in my experiance have been the broadsheets of game journalism. ign would probably be a tabloid, with something like Kotaku being the equivalent of the daily star here in the uk. they write with their target audience in mind.

Its a poor way of communicating their strategy. I don't think IBM designed the cell to be difficult, just that by trying to future proof it for a ten year cycle, you got to do things differently to how pcs work. like with the ps2, can you imagine a SOC/god of war 2 type game on pc in the year 2000?
