not really.. the max fps a game can run at is limited by the eye, and then the processor.
you wont notice a difference on anything above 120FPS. (double that of 60Hz the normal refresh rate you can say) and then the game is limited by the CPU.
a single 8800GTX can run doom3 @ 130~FPS
in SLI that can get boosted to nearly 270~FPS
both of those are LIMITED by the CPU, if we had a faster GPU u would see even higher FPS...BUT does it matter? after 10...
i would agree with you..BUT, as you have seen before everybody WANTS a playstation, its just that they cant afford one, so with a price drop people are more likely to buy one, its like this, ms said halo3 people bought it (to the tune of $170 million, quality...i wont go there) if sony says PS3 399$ i think people will react very nicely...

well from what ive read they dont want crappy damage a la Forza 2, they want real damage like you smash it into a pole at 10KM/H u'll get a dent, you smash it at 100KM/H, and your car will be totaled, that is why they couldnt add it, because they want it to be as real as possible. so its like this, they can either release the game early without damage, or release it later with super realistic damage, ill take the earlier one, with even a payable thing that adds damage to the game(realistic) ...

NOO! stupid stupid nvidia, do what the processor makers are doing retards. Integrate 2 GPU's into ONE PCB, by making it smaller and faster, allowing it to handel the load of an sli configuration without the extra power consumption! Sure it'll be expensive but it beats having extra power wasted when im not in a game with an SLI rig. (kinda like the GX2 and the x1950XTX crossfire video cards that combined 2 of the same cards and made them one)
grr n4g and its lagg. anyways @ above SLI is soo expensive right now (1000$ for just 2 graphic cards 1500$ for 3? no thanks id rather spend money on ONE top of the line graphic card for 400$, and the rest of the 1100$ for buying better parts for my computer eg from dual core to quad core, and from an ok motherboard to an overclockers dream motherboard.

hz nolonger matter on LCD's they only mattered on CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor/tv's the only time more hertz are needed are when you want 3d images. that is when an lcd will be pushed up to 120hz, 60hz for the left eye, 60hz for the right eye resulting in a proper 3d image @ 60 fps. if you do it to a 60hz lcd you'll have ghosting/lagg on the 3d image.
