There's a few interviews from Konami shows lately of the creator claiming the wii whipping would be too strenuous and would turn off the fans who generally own the wii. I beleive there's one over at gametrailers if you'd like to see it. Hopefully he wasn't just bullshitting or horrible translation.

The Original Ninja Gaiden? Granted everything that followed was an improvement but at the time it was one of the best games out there. If anything Ninja Gaiden 3 would be the worst of that series.
