I personally think that Gears has the best cover system in any game I've played. It's awesome in Uncharted, too, but to me Gears perfected it.
Killzone 2 has a more realistic cover system that isn't completely safe. It's alright.
So I would definitely say that Gears innovated the system, just as Uncharted did in some ways with destructible cover and Killzone 2 will do with a decent FPS cover system.

It seems to me that commando is saying that there are crappy 360 games as well as elite ones. This is true for every console.
For some reason people think that anything under a 9 or 10 is bad. 8.75 is a great score, but for some reason many people don't agree.
It has become very popular and well known, but it will never be the same as a lightsaber.
There are many replicas in stores, particularly the life-sized FYE one. In that aspect, the weapon will probably come close.
I'm not a WoW fan myself, but I know how popular the game is, and I doubt that many WoW gamers will switch games anytime soon.

I love the magazine, but I don't really base any purchases off their reviews. It is just fun to read and is full of good information. Whether this review was justified or not is yet to be determined.
Everyone acts like anything less than a 10 these days is bad. Then when few games get over 9 I'm disappointed for no reason.
Killzone will be an amazing game, probably one of the best of the year. It will not, however, define video game history. This is no Metal Gear Solid.

but is that really a bad thing. The Gears of War games are the same way, for the most part. The majority of the combat is from behind cover, and sometimes some event happens that changes the gameplay for a short while. If Killzone is like that, I'm perfectly alright with that. In fact, I'd love it. It's an emerging sub-genre that is already present in AAA games such as Uncharted and Gears.
I loved the demo, once I got used to the controls.
My roommates and I play this game all time online. I've always had a problem with the ranking system, though, which really didn't encourage me to play that much. With trackable experience and levels, it will be possible to set goals and have an idea of how close you are to leveling.

but you still can't judge the entire game from the demo. And an 8 out of 10 is much better than what most of the fanboys on metacritic who have never played the demo are giving it.

The 360 lineup often looks bad at the beginning of the year. This is because a large amount of exclusives are not announced until later in the year.
Sony on the other hand announces PS3 exclusives far in advance. I'm not sure which is better.
Right now, though, the PS3 strategy is working on me. I'm very excited about Uncharted 2(I just finished the first game), Infamous, and Killzone 2. The only 360 exclusive I really care about at the moment is Halo 3: ODST, ...
