Cool. I don't care about COD. I just hope this means that MS will make use of all the IP that Activition has.
The Legend of Heroes series.
Well that said. FFXVI and the two games in the thumbnail (FFVII & Tales of Arise) are action combat and Trails are [mostly] traditional turn-based combat.
LoH games are heavy on story and world building, each game around 60+ hours so if you want a HUGE series to dig into they will keep you occupied.
Do you mean a turn based combat game?
As far as I've seen it has been tho.
It would really boom if it were PC compatible as well. I love the hardware but there are so few games worth playing right now on PS5.
That'd be so so wonderful.
I'm glad to hear it. There was a decent amount of skepticism that the game would perform well or even as well as FFXV. This seems to be off to a slightly better start and XV went on to sell over 10 million despite that mess it had at launch and continued to have with it's DLC plans.
The word that keeps popping in my head while playing is "incredible"
Maybe you don't know what it is? It seems pretty straightforward to me. Like the format doesn't strike as unique; it's just a blast to play and the story is so dang well executed.
These handful of "journalists" are really loving this Final Fantasy isn't Final Fantasy drum but people have said that with every generation of game.
Final Fantasy isn't much more than a library of monsters and an epic fantasy story made by Square. They have always tri...
In reply to what you said to me I was basing my comment off Abracadabra said with his IGN quote. What are you even debating on. Sony had been making many deals with studios. Fact. Xbox had not been as much. Fact. Xbox did not even make many first party games over the Xbone gen. Fact. Xbox is now stepping up with a more aggressive buisness strategy.
I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to respond and it's so hard to gauge you. You're just bringing all these counter po...
Not my kind of RPGs. I could never get into many of them. Namely Bethesda ones. I beat Witcher 2 but haven't got around to 3. I was really into Fable 2 on 360, hope the new one is good but I have a PC for all that.
There is no other genre where we say with X-elements. If something has the elements then it becomes that. That's how people en-masse discuss them in practice. If something has rouguelike elements it's a rougelike, if something as action elements is action, if something has porn elements... it's porn.
This discussion on FFXVI being an RPG or not is something that could have been said about 100s of other games. Because if we are dissecting ROLE PLAYING as having more choice...
It can't be too simple like R&C. Plenty of games have "items" that the characters gain but that's not quite the list needed to qualify. It has to be a list that includes lots of crap items that you'll never touch.
I seriously don't get how people are so strongly disagreeing and kind of making things up to debate this. You provided a quote that undeniably said Sony was negotiating exclusivity and then others are say "BeLiEvE tHeY dID"
As a PS and PC player, yes Sony went PRETTY hard on getting exclusivity deals at a time when Xbox Studios was not putting out many games and Xbox had few deals and rocky studio relationships. This a clearly a response from Xbox to begin stepping up. ...
For the peeps who nay saying Phil, he's come off as a scapgoat to me with the things that have gone wrong for Xbox lately with things like Redfall. Could he have done more? Yes in hindsight but in the moment Xbox has many new studios and he can't keep so closely in tuned to each as one man. This is a structural and support issue, not a Phil issue. Xbox isn't used to having so much to manage and they are failing now and learning how to do better (hopefully)
P.S....
The studio should have a say but I think it's in every right for MS/Xbox to making those decisions. Xbox has (should have) it's own strategy and they'll need to be the ones making the choices for that.
Yes it is. It has an inventory list.
There's a inventory list of many items. That's all that makes an Action game an RPG.
I've been saying RPG is nearly meaningless for years.
In practice it just means there is an inventory list.
call me when it's all over.
