Lawsuits don’t magically disappear when you get acquired.

Plus, no one wants Bobby to stay in the industry - neither gamers nor his employees - so the acquisition is good.

I’m not sure I’d say keeping him around permanently and have him raking in the rewards of Activision for the rest of his life is really justice.

Better to just finalize the acquisition, he still gets rich (he already is anyway) but then the employees don’t have to encounter him ever again and they will have far better working conditions.

@Nyxus Hogwarts, an SP game that launches next week requires Internet. It’s not the first and won’t be the last.

@Xi Yep we need that - or multi disk support. It wouldn’t be the end of the world to swap disks since it would be during installation only. Installs would be slower though, more data.

Two things need to happen for that to occur though:

1. We need a new disk format - or platforms need to allow multi-disk games again as standard
2. Game dev needs to become less rushed. 99% of the time you cert an unstable version and make Sony/MS a promise to deliver a day 0 patch.

Also keep in mind with a disk version, once those services are gone, you'll be playing unpatched versions. All the pre-day 0 issues will exist, e.g. the VRS and p...

You do realize that... Microsoft don't make nor publish this game... right?

485d ago 1 agree13 disagreeView comment

Not hugely surprising given that it didn't really take off. I guess I'm kinda surprised it stayed up this long if it required servers being kept up.

The flaw with that logic is that a lot of physically owned games will also stop working once the PSN/XBL services of todays console generation shut down.

Funny, but Redfall is 100x the game CFX ever was - and MS typically does a good job supporting their games in the longer term.

"Feel like MS timed this to make themselves look bad"

Err, Microsoft has no control over third party companies.

Simple. Yes, especially OF.

It's historically been higher on console to prop up the losses made on HW - consoles were typically sold at a loss and then propped up with the platform holder taking a 30% cut of every game, DLC, microtransaction etc.

That being said, that's not true anymore for the PS5 - Sony have stated that the PS5 is being sold at a profit - but don't expect a price decrease on games.

Not anymore :P Nowadays you can get a Steam Deck for $399 which plays all the PS studios titles released on PC.

It's Capcom - it's going to look great everywhere, even on PS4. Their engine is great and they're on their A game as of late.

It just looks a bit flat and unrealistic to me... maybe I still have PTSD from GTA Definitive Edition.

If this was meant to squash the rumors and theories about this game, it certainly didn't. This looks like someone just pulled a bunch of assets and blueprints from the marketplace and put them together.

Nothing really shown that isn't barebones or looks cohesive as an experience.

Not hugely surprising, Square have been on the down. Sold off a bunch of good IPs and... well... look at Forspoken.

485d ago 1 agree9 disagreeView comment

This just looks immense (minus the rain), Capcom have really nailed the remake formula.

Hope they do CV and RE1 next.

35m isn't much really, I'm kinda surprised by that number, especially in CA which claims to be pro-people anti-corporation.

I said it before and I'll say it again, the sooner this acquisition closes and Bobby is gone, the better.

The teardown is interesting. I'd assumed the lower battery life was simply due to enhanced polling, haptics etc. and the same stock DS battery being used. But in actual fact, they've put a battery in it that is ~33% weaker than the stock DS controller (~1050mAh vs 1560mAh).

A premium controller should have a battery greater than or equal to the base controller.

You can basically just single button click pre-scripted knife enemies carrying her now, so no risk of accidently hitting her etc.

That being said, I bet the part in the later game where you need to cover her from a distance as she cranks things probably still exists :P

I am sad that you can't dump her in a dumpster anymore though.

Super hyped for this though, it's going to be a long wait, especially as more gameplay etc comes ou...
