Wow moldybread, you sound like you have a history with this guy and can't get over it yourself. I mean look at your comment. It's filled with your opinion of the author and barely about the blog, and at the end you're trying to get people to agree with your negative opinion. Sounds like you have nothing else to do but attack someone.

Did you actually read the blog? He says right here...

To everyone above: Consider the criticisms and barbs you're throwing at Mr. Dutka very seriously. Think about the current state of gaming media in its entirety. In the wake of GamerGate, here we have a reviewer biting the bullet and admitting he made a mistake with his initial review, and even retracting it with solid reasons as to why.

This shows a marked level of integrity, honesty, and professional pride that is seemingly absent from the larger sources such as Kotaku, ...

Why is this news? I mean think about it, this is just like if N4G users posted lists of their GOTY games, which happens in comments anyway.

Who cares what NeoGaf thinks? That place is terrible.

I don't know, why don't you ask them if they watched Star Trek or not? How many work there absent of watching Star Trek? How many would have worked there if Star Trek never existed? There have been countless studies showing that media does not impact life unless a pre-existing personality or mental disorder is already present.

Now you're contradicting yourself. You don't get to say games do and then do not affect people.

It is preposterous. Di...

1. All male gamers play as someone other than themselves every single day, so all male gamers are capable of it. You sound bitter.

2. Equity and Equality aren't the same thing either, yet you're arguing equity as though it is equality, making a "it's about the numbers" argument and not concerned at all with quality. Having a game with a purple female platypus doesn't automatically make a game better than if it had any other kind of character. There a...

"Why We Need Better Representation in Games."

Gaming as an entertainment medium is young, but is still older than most gamers who game today. There are thousands upon thousands of games with all kinds of representation.

Now, the title makes a statement, that women fantasize too, that is both a moment of Captain Obvious, and at the same time doesn't understand a key aspect of fantasy.

Fantasizing can, but doesn't chiefly mean...

"I'm not sure DoA counts as "better" representation, haha."

Interesting. Are you implying that there are not women with large breasts that dress provocatively?

This Zoe Quinn girl has really seemed like someone who needs a lot of attention all the time and really doesn't have any qualms about what kind of attention she gets, but hopes it's negative so she can use it to get even more attention. Such a personality will only bring people trouble.

Off Topic: I've seen some reports being deleted and resubmitted so it appears as though no one agreed or disagreed with the report. That's really bad form if it's not a gli...

I went to check out the article thinking that maybe the description didn't match the article because sometimes that's unavoidable. First sentence in the description is verbatim from the article. It clearly says "internet trolls..."

Could someone explain to me how the guardian can obviously see it's internet trolls, yet at the same time attribute it to Gamergate which the submitter does as well?

Isn't that reaching quite a lot?

Ohohoho it's funny because it's a Tumblr blog. Get it?

Her first paragraph makes some claims that she's continuously being harassed, implying there's no reason behind it beyond pure hatred of her as a person. Well wasn't this the girl who, when the focus of all the GamerGate ire was tuned into Leigh Alexander and the other journalists writing the "Gamers Are Over" articles, decided she'd try to pull a spy move on 4Chan and create post after p...

This girl made Depression Quest right? That's a page filled with hyperlinks. That's considered a game these days? That's the bare minimum you have to do to become a developer? I guess we're all developers here then.

I don't think that some of these are remasters. Dark Souls 2 is a re-release with no real enhancements, same with DmC. Final Fantasy VII shouldn't be considered a remaster since it's a port of the PC version. Is the FFX/X-2 HD Remaster for PS4 going to receive any enhancements?

I think the author is confused. Nudity is the state or fact of being naked. Nudity is not the state or fact of wearing very little clothing. If you can see full on nudity, then none of those games is taking advantage of nudity to increase sales, they're taking advantage of sexualization to increase sales.

Not that I'm saying that this is true, but SE are the company that completely re-tooled White Engine to Crystal Tools to be a multiplatform engine right in the middle of developing FFXIII. I wouldn't put abandoning and engine passed them at all.

@OhhWerd: And when a company like Microsoft decides to lock out the music of a game behind the Live paywall? Then what?

That example is extreme, but no less valid. The point is that something that is free everywhere else is now locked behind a paywall that people are forced to pay if they want to do any kind of social aspect with their gaming console online.

It's using online multiplayer to hold free apps hostage via subscription fees. There is no reason ...

Here's the thing, the media showing positivity to this is in and of itself a spin. I would go so far as to say that it is a fact that this kind of thing is viewed as the gaming community going along with the idea that games cause real world violence.

I think I can speak for many when I say the issue isn't whether this movement is doing enough, it's that it is, or should be, completely unnecessary. It's also potentially very damaging.
