SImple greed. When Share holders interest come first than company goals is when everything starts going south. Companies forget what they started business for... to do games, to make movies, to build hardware. to bring something to the endo consumer. Sure, profit is to be had in exchange, after all it is a business. No one is denying that.
But when profit becomes the end all be all... this starts to happen. Companies cut costs, they look at less than stellar earnings as to...
1- I still rather have voice actors I appreciate doing what they love, giving me a more limited dialogue than AI voices reacting to everything I do dynamically... Good writing doesn't need infinite dialogue possibilities.
2- I am sorry you cannot be made to wait for good things that take intensive labor and love from hundreds of people to be made. I rather wait ten years knowing the people involved got fairly paid and did not burn out that have a game a year with half the work...
Unionization, cutting support to big studios and releases made with AI, supporting smaller and idie devs with human labor. That´s the only way forward.
Otherwise this will just be a way to make the the already rich just much richer.
There is no democratization of production means under this tech, just more means to please shareholders. Unless we take an honest look at the way we are just eternally pursuing faster and bigger growth, we are headed for ...
Grew up when Nintendo and Sega where duking it out... Man do I remember those times fondly. I had a Genesis, one of my best friends an SNES, we would argue over whose console had the better games, always ended up at each others`house playing with the other console. The best of times to be a gamer. The 90s Brought SO MUCH in terms of innovations, revolutions and changes... the jump to 16 and then 32 bits, 2d to full on 3d... so many genres where born in that span of 10 years...
To be completely honest, the Ukranian Ministry of Digital Affairs can take whatever actions they deem worthy of taking. They can seek to get this game and any other digital content that potentially generate revenue for russia banned in as many countries as they can. This is war time and they are trying to cripple revenue streams for their invaders in as many ways as they can.
It is up to Steam, Microsoft and any other companies in their respective countries to take action o...
Nice... the nintendo way, milk your games while people buy them.
So I get to buy the same game again?!
Can´t wait to play this along some uncharted remake, and a re release of some other game like witcher 3!
These studios sure like to stretch their buck...
I guess I´d do the same.
because people has one set of eyes
@Babadook7
The quest can be connected via cable to the PC...
Gotta give it to a company when they are offering the better deal. In this regard at least, MS takes the crown.
Really, any argument in regards of library, first party offerings, etc. is simply avoiding the fact that MS has a better service in Game Pass than Sony has to offer...
Don´t underestimate the power of Multi-platform titles, which usually make the bulk of a console's library and can be all gotten relatively cheaper through game pass. If a given consumer doesn't see a significant enough draw in the exclusives a certain system has to offer, they may as well choose the one that may provide them with a more cost effective way into gaming. MS has that model better oiled at the moment.
Of Course, Sony has been plagued with hardware...
I alway buy physical copies. Even when games are released digitally, I tend to wait for Limited Run or another provider to make a physical copy of the game. No matter how prominent an online service is, how mainstream and popular... eventually over the years, they all die out, and your digital purchase will, more often than not, end in a limbo.
I keep games form when I was a teenager still, and I plan to keep the current gen games I like into my old age. Gaming has been a ...

This has nothing to do with "elitism". Making a game less difficult may not be as straight cut as making enemies weaker, or guns more powerful, or a combination of both. All good games require careful balancing of many of their constituent parts to make the experience good. Game developers operate on a tight budget sometimes and simply put, they may not have the game designer / dev and testing time to put out a well crafted difficulty scaling system that they feel comfortable with. ...
You are always in risk of letting someone out of the equation, regardless of what you do. Gaming is about whatever the designer of a game decides his or her game to be. If the designer of a Souls game thinks they want to put the players through a nightmare and make it so that only a few dedicated players will be able to make it to the end, then so be it, that is their choice. Adding difficulty levels surely makes a game more accessible to everyone, but maybe that is not how a designer envisio...
People tend to forget this is MS we are talking about. If antitrust laws weren't in place, they have the spending power to buy every studio out there and turn every non 1st party game into an XBOX exclusive and leave the PC out if they wished so. It would be a costly and stupid move... but they could do it. The only thing stopping MS from buying Nintendo and Sony is, well, them not wanting to sell basically, MS could buy both companies several times over and be left with ample cash to spa...
The cost of developing it, making a whole plastic injection molding and assembly line packaging, marketing... would probably not even be offset by the sales. These are quite niche products so you are always going to have to find them either by third party specialised providers or taylor made by soem dude over the internet, like the case.
But this guy not only went to the trouble od engineering a clever solution to a problem, but made the files available for free. Any person...
I think Nintendo is doing fine. And I appreciate a company doing things at a different Pace, otherwise we would have another PS / Xbox...
Looks quite amazing.
Cause they sell for the price of a small car...
