If the game is good and there's enough hours of content and replayability, I don't mind full price. It doesn't matter if it's a 2D look or 3D look to me. Sonic 2D physics have always been hit or miss since the original Genesis games, so I'm waiting to see what the call is on this game before pulling the trigger. I don't mind the decision not to include the later content. I kind of feel that these extentions to the games just are padding to already long games. P3, P4 and P5 were all better vanilla versions compared to the later releases. The idea of spending more time with characters you like is nice, but the original stories and endings were just so good that when Atlus added more content and changed some things in how the games worked, it diluted the experience for me.

Good game! I already have the PS4 game with all the DLC. With loading times being nothing, there's no reason to buy it again for me. If you haven't picked this up and love Castlevania and roguelike games, it might be worth it to grab the all in one PS5 version when it comes out
Higher res textures and more MP3 files for audio take up a huge chunk of that "triple the size". Coding is coding. The text files that the coding is, really isn't that large. It's the assets themselves.

Smart move. Better to spend the development money & resources available on making sure the focus of the game is as polished as possible.

Graphics do matter. It's a stylized look. When I see a screenshot of a Switch Zelda game I know immediately what I'm looking at. It's the reason so many people prefer the way Arceus looks vs Violet. Or why players liked MvC3 vs. MVCI. I love a highly stylized look to a game, like say Persona 5, but when a game does is half baked like Soul Hackers 2 it comes across as lifeless. I don't think this game has the budget of a AAA game. If it's f2p, I'll probably add it to my collection, play 10-50 hours, spend nothing on it and then put it down and move on to something else like I did Genshin Impact. Too many other games out there to get bogged down by one and I refuse to pay anything into these schemes designed to suck hundreds of dollars out of someone's wallet. It's greasy.
Ugh. The graphics look worse than Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and the animations are horrible. This looks worse than a smartphone game. Hard pass on this turd.
I guess we should see these games in about another 20 years after another development company picks up the pieces and finishes them.
