Considering most anti-cheats are borderline rootkits it's no surprise. Windows API hooking doesn't exactly work well in linux. Chances are it'll be detected as running in a virtual machine before the anti-cheat can even kick in in the first place.
Who would have thought? A game that was based on the mobile version to begin with has leftover functions that can be called if you know what you're doing. This is common practice if you're a developer. The game itself is a dumpster fire, but this has absolutely nothing to do with it.

While I do agree, keep in mind the N64 is a total pain in the ass to emulate. Emulators today still do not run every N64 game properly. BigN should at the very least be able to make a better emulator considering they understand everything about the system they created.

No, in fact developers should abandon consoles altogether. Consoles are the primary reason for horrible PC ports. The only thing keeping consoles going is the fact that people love to play together so you, the idiot consumer will actually buy a shitty console just to play monster hunter with your friend with 5 hour loading screens. Who cares really. There are games that run at 1080p that look better than some games that render at 4k. Resolution isn't everything. Owner of all platforms here btw, minus the ones that are near impossible to get atm.
Despite all the crap hardware Nintendo has shamelessly selling people over the years, having a game run poorly is always the fault of the developers.
Either it's not well optimized for the Switch, meaning it was most likely rushed and serves primarily as a cash cow (wow f2p games being shameless cash grabs what else is new) or they did not notice in time that this port simply doesn't work on this platform, in which case they should have never promised it nor released it.
That's because remasters on Nintendo consoles are like porting games from a Pentium 2 to a Pentium 3. It's still stone age tech, but it looks a lil better I suppose.
