Have fun with the proprietary and required Origin Client / DRM.
Likely on 2-discs for the campaign and multiplayer facets each. It's really not that big a deal. Most FPS games don't have any strong narrative (CoD sure as hell didn't) so it's not the primary purpose of the title or the main selling point. I don't have a 360, so I don't really have to worry about it, but I see a few benefits of having two separate disks - like letting someone borrow the campaign disk while retaining the ability to keep playing multiplayer (assuming E...
Yeah I mean, why would anyone want practical solutions and progression... that's just absurd. I also kept my Laser Disc player just because I don't mind flipping it to see the other half of my movie. I've been giving thought to maybe just closing my GMAIL account and going back to stamps because walking to the mail box at the end of my driveway really doesn't bother me.
I think that when people compare performance between the two consoles they forget that it's never an "apples to apples" comparison. This isn't to say one is better than the other, but they definitely handle certain aspects the same titles differently and are thus designed a little differently. Looking for BF3 to run exactly like the other consoles, regardless of perspective, only fuels some contrived debate.
You bring up a good moderate point, but also bear ...
To answer the basic premise - mud slinging creates a divisive standard by which people ally themselves and become part of a hive mind group. The feeling that comes with being part of an "exclusive" group also makes people feel "elite" and it has proven lucrative. If you can't instill loyalty through honesty and quality, the next best thing is to do it through bias and slander - also, it's much easier.
I don't condone it - I loathe corporations...
Shouldn't the title read: "Call Of Duty MMO The Next Phase Of The Franchise. I'M gonna be sick"?
A.) Sony, like Apple, knows they can poop all over their customers and they'll love them for it. same with Microsoft. The gamin culture would just as soon let Sony fall off as they would Microsoft. How is it you think we're seeing people buy into gimmicks - because people are tools, easily manipulated into buying whatever because they're told to.
B.)Immaturity has everything to do with it. We can't say greed in its various forms is not predicated level of matu...
Oh I understand that. However, the underlying point is that
A.)it doesn't need to be a practice for any reason (if Sony said "no" people would soon forget and buy in again anyway... if you think otherwise, you need a lesson in politics)
B.)Despite what "practices" are in place, it doesn't remove the immaturity shown by gamers in their approach.
Without share holders you go indie and self publish. It's a tough gig, and only the strong survive, but look at Flower, Braid, Linger in Shadows, pixel junk, glorkain warrior, turba, etc... THOSE are the begninnings of people who care and care enough to succeed against odds.
look... its always been about the bottom line. The point of business is to make money. Do the most, with the least, screw everything else. People who think that EA, Activision, Square, THQ, Ubisoft, Sony, Bungie, Nintendo, or Microsoft at ANY point cared about the gaming culture are deluded morons. They care only because NOT caring makes no money not because of anything having to do with art, culture, or reward.
That's a bit ethnically and culturally insensitive... you ought to have a bit more class than that. And even if you'd revert to claiming something related to South Park, it doesn't make it less inappropriate.
moved the comment since I can't delete. oops
Actually, it's mainly argued by people who understand the human brain far beyond the plebeian scope of most gamers, myself included. To become law, it has to be argued by lawyers, but often times subjects of a situation are largely unaware of what is really going on because they don't have a full scope top down view. The least helpful people in this situation are gamers because of their narrow scope and centric views. It's not a bad thing, it just limits our knowledge in respects ...
It's a good opinion piece, and makes some valid points. However the points made suffer from a little bit of misinformation and a large degree of contextual abandonment as it pertains to parts of the actual bill... a HUGE counter argument would easily answer some of the fears Rus discusses accurately and factually.
He said: "I’ll feel more sympathy towards the “video games are art” crowd once they stop being so picky about whether video games are video games. These guys are often incredibly dismissive of casual gaming (the games that, in my opinion, are often the most art like—irony, look it up) yet I’m expected to care that their feelings and egos are hurt that Roger Ebert (film critic) is dismissive of their passion?"
I didnt't think people could directly submit ads...
... ok. Yeah... I got you now. In that case, on a person to person 'real life' level... I can't disagree.
fanboyism IS the joke to people who arent fanboys... it's rather layered. Maybe not well, but it is.
If people didn't pick it up - they'd be out together. They'd be friends.. hanging out, but disagreeing.
You're no racist, but you make a comment that singles out a specific race and links the alleged stereotypes... uh huh... I see.
