I am a HUUUUGE fan of the original Half Life, with Quake II and RE3 its one of my most played games and when the remake comes out I will play it again :D
I am also a huge fan of Opposing Force, but it wasn't that fond of Blue Shift or Decay
I loved Warhead cuz despite being short it was non stop action :D

Well here are some quick thoughts I have regarding the game that I must say I found to be surprisingly good
+Love the combat system, from the whole unions, to the special orders, to the combos, chain critical (VERY good hit detection tech) or how the battle is affected depending on how you "move" your unions on the battlefield
+Love whole the teams auto handle themselves, no need to baby sit
+Love Mr Diggs and the whole aspect of exploring and leveling u...
Dude there must be something wrong with your PC, for one side I can confirm that it has texture pop in but its not even remotely as extreme as the 360 version, but in terms of performance it runs like a charm, running it on max under vista for 1680x1050 I get and average of 68fps without a single sluggish moment, and running it a console res of 1280x720 I get an average of 106fps again with out a single sluggish moment
I am running it with a 3.0Ghz Dual Core, 4GB RAM and a 8...
I don't know how it will work now in terms of control but from the actual combat in this video it looks like the major change is this "cinematic camera mode", so far the moves are the same as the PC version...I wonder if they will make the finishers easier to pull

@Motion: you must not be very familiar with Halo then since the game was announced at the 1999 Mac world as an RTS even Bungie said when trying to explain the concept of the game to the press that it was pretty much a sci fi version of Myth

This game completely deserves it...ive been playing the campaign non stop and its a BLAST to play :D

Any fan right now of Virtual On you are probably gonna need a new set of pants right now :D, Sadly I also expect high contrast reviews and word of mouth between the old and new fans and the people that just cant get into the game (which is surprisingly a good amount of people)
I also wonder what are they gonna do to the control scheme? it would be epic if they launched it with the actual arcade sticks
I have been playing for more than 12 hours and it hasn't crashed not even once, dude sounds like its your PC since this is the first time ive read a review with so much performance problems...hell many other praised the fact that is actually very stable compared to other recent RTS -_-

hackers break security measures within days, 50%+ of userbase is composed of pirates. piss off a good amount of users including potential costumers who tear your image online. piss off investors as you see costumers out of principal or spite pirate it and be VERY vocal about it. sell poorly compared to console version. and the worse be known as the game its better to pirate than to buy

Its is pretty obvious after reading the review that despite the score Kevin wanted the game to a more traditional RTS given the fact that he complains about pretty much all the changes that were made into the formula in one way or the other.
What I find kind of ironic with around half of the reviews this game has received is that they punish the game for not being like the first game but in HD with new units...pretty much a DOW 1.5 which is funny since now a days we hear SO muc...
