Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you only see the spinning coin if you skip a cutscene? If the same applies to U2, why is the reviewer skipping cutscenes?

lol, image having your boss give you a poor performance review at work because you play video games. by your logic, that's perfectly fine since it's his/her opinion.
in the real world, professional reviewers are supposed to review something objectively, not subjectively.
Eh, there are so many sites that review games nowadays that you're going to see several scores that make you think "wtf". ODST has seen a few, U2 will see more than this... it's just the way it is.
The sad part about this is it would've gotten another perfect score had the other guy reviewed it. If the second opinion is 2 points higher than the real review, the site has issues.

I completely agree. I think very very few series would be able to pull this off.. I think Halo, GTA, and maybe GT, but that's it. If a "lesser series" like Red Faction tried to pull this, things wouldn't end well.

Wow, callahan09, I don't think that dissertation was necessary. I'm pretty sure everyone knows Edge is biased. It sucks, because I like their articles a lot... but their reviews are a joke.
I love how people defend their scores.. "But but they use the entire grading scale instead of 7-10". Obviously, this isn't the case.
Yeah, the human character animations are pretty terrible, but I was mainly referring to the fact that Halo has a distinct color palette that doesn't focus on greys and browns.
Am I saying it's as refreshing as say.. Bioshock? No. Do I prefer it over Gears of War? Yes.
I would main Conker in SSB no matter how bad he was... I like him that much.
It's too bad that Rare games aren't as good as they were back during the N64 days, but I still think they're a quality dev team that will put out a great game sometime soon... I hope.
I'm still surprised at the review scores. Since I first saw Demon's Souls, I thought it would be a very niche title with scores around 7-8 because of it's difficulty... but it looks like it's the real deal.
wtf... a 9.6?!? From what I've read it doesn't deserve over an 8-8.5, and that's being generous.

That would actually be cool if you could design your own RPG... maybe create your own sprites for it, etc.... I'm not really that interested in the game, but if it went the play/create/share route like LBP and Mod Nation, I would probably pick it up day 1.

Man, I can't believe all those games are coming out in just the next few months. I'm interested in most of those plus Borderlands and Demon's Souls. Looks like I'll be broke until next year.
I think the Forza 3 backgrounds I've seen are pretty damn amazing, but everything is in Forza is done better in GT5 (graphically). Not sure why people argue about it.. it's not like Forza has bad graphics.
