Cell Lawsuit most likely cleared positive for sony

The patent is for "A high speed computer that permits the partitioning of a single computer program into smaller concurrent processes running in different parallel processors." Oddly enough, Sony's own patent, filed in 2001 and issued in 2007, actually lists the 1991 patent as a citation. In other words, Sony's own patent lawyers have already seen the old patent and deemed it not to be a threat, and the U.S. Patent Office apparently agreed when it issued Sony the patent in June.

Who the hell paid them to demand such a thing? It's like MS went to them and said "We will pay you double anything Sony will offer you, but you have to demand the destruction off all Cell based products" LOL

probably the most boring nitpicking job out there. i know because i'm an engineer and sometimes have to disclose my inventions to our legal board and they really drill EVERY patent out there. this is business of law, not the company's bashing.
millions can be made, it all comes down to the governmental patent office of accepting or rejecting patents or lawsuits. it's not in the clear yet. most likely doesn't exist in court. it's a yes or no. the most likely is LEADING to a yes or no... patent lawyers can always refile claiming other cards of their sleeves.

Sony should sue them losers back and lower the price on PS3 80 gbs haha. MS xbots just trying to take out Sony from the console war so they can win but xbots are just so nuts. Xbots' 360 is not selling well u knows.

Sony's own patent lawyers knew about the old patent and knew it's not a threat to Sony thats why the U.S. Patent Office agree to issue sony the patent. HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure nobody paid them to ask that all PS3's be impounded and destroyed. Microsoft probably wouldn't. Why would they? It's fun enough just to sit back and watch. Stupid people do stupid things for free.

As for the patent, I don't think it applies to the PS3. If I read it correctly, it specifically refers to devices with parallel processors utilizing shared memory. PS3 has separate memory for each processor, so the patent wouldn't apply. At least, that's my understanding. Instead, it's Microsoft and Intel who should be more concerned about the patent; as the patent would seem to apply more to the Xbox 360 and to PC's using dual- and quad-core processors.
