VGarabia.com: with all of the changes in this ever evolving industry and the attempts to bring more consumers to game, will project Natal be the magical solution for Microsoft in Japan?
The most notable reveal would perhaps by the requirements of the Xbox 360 console itself. While Microsoft has insisted since the original unveiling of Kinect at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2009, then known as Project NATAL, that the device would be compatible with all Xbox 360 consoles, the revelation of a dedicated port included on the newly redesigned Xbox 360 model has sparked rumours of incompatibility, which were quickly debunked.
odd, i was led to believe it lacked an internal processor and so also needed a core to itself, if not 1-2 processing threads.
So pretty much the same spec as the PS Eye, although I thought the eye went up to 120 Hertz...
"Tracks up to 6 people, including 2 active players"
I think now its official that just 2 ppl can play at the same time.
Xbox Evolved:
"Microsoft is holding no breaks in making sure the general public knows all about Kinect. What cooler spot to also show it than with Jimmy Fallon? "
although i usually watch fallon. i'll have to catch an internet clip of it later.
was pretty funny. same demos they showed at E3 though. Nothing new. But they sure are marketing it quick.
wow first that girl's co-worker hosts the Kinect event and now she's her playing it. I see the audience Microsoft is definitely going after with Bieber, Cosgrove and McCurdy - teenage pop audiences.
Meodia writes, "So about a year ago when Project Natal was first starting off, many Xbox 360 and even other gamers were worried about the future of their console. A local shovelware dumping ground didn't sound quite appealing and Natal looked like it would serve extra servings of it. But Microsoft reassured us, holding our hands and telling us that everything would be alright. Since then, nothing has changed. After that "conference" at E3, we were shown nothing but how to please little girls."
It's funny because after the Microsoft conference, we actually saw some. In fact, I'm surprised that they showed off the shovelware they did, and then an hour later Sonic Freedom Riders and Child of Eden were shown off and completely destroyed what Microsoft displayed.
gotta agree, MS is exactly like nintendo 2 years ago. hey, what ever happened to that dumb ass vitality sensor.
MS's attempt to lure JP gamers with JRPGs has clearly backfired.
And though it would probably be popular with full blown otakus, a milo type dating sim would likely come back on them too. Especially if you could strip and touch the character, who'd likely be a top-heavy waitress or bar girl.

looooool. But there is a better idea how about Microsoft monkey? something similar to nintendo dog on the DS or seaman on the Dreamcast.
NATAL is too far away to make any differences for the 360 in Japan now.
In 3 months FFXIII Bundle will be released and thats all the japs will care about. They need their FF/JRPG Fix.
NATAL is a year away too, unless it releases right next to SONY's and it still won't make an impact in Japan. It's time is up...<
M$ needs to put in more research into this technology. They just bought out the company a year ago. What have they done, since E3? The camera hasn't changed look and its still horribly un-responsive(laggy), did you forget?
EDIT: @above immortal84, nintendogs is more popular in the UK/Europe.
Is that what japanese like, pet games?
At least with the EYE. There will be at least three control types.
You
The Wands
The Dualshock
NATAL is limited and will put a lot of stress on developers.
M$ has barely pushed this industry/geneartion foward and NATAL looks like its backward. You need buttons to play/touch games.
The DS has buttons and touch.
The Wii is basically an enhanced DS with the touch now transformed into motion.
NATAL=THIN AIR
...and any chances of using a controller with it is ruined, with SONY's patent.

you are wrong. Natal could shift more Xbox 360 consoles in Japan, the Japanese gamers are becoming more casual. They don't care about JRPGs as before expect for high profile RPGs such as FF and DQ games.

Do you guys just make this up or do you have a link. To take the slight delay and post is as horrible un-responsive, is like calling a 2 foot waive a tsunami. You don't have to be a straight up liar to make your point do you? I have be paying close attention to comments of the people who actually had hands on with Natal. Not one of the hands-on's said anything about being unresponsive. I have played tennis games with a controller where the time you hit at the ball and the time it actually get there is a bit off. But, you get use to it if the delay is not too long. Most people who played where able to make the adjustment. Keep in mind that what they have shown so far are also tech demos. The Wii mote is not near perfect in this area, yet millions enjoy that.
