Sales for the Ps3 should increase dramatically when this hits!

Also, this price shows that Sony is aggressively trying to take marketshare away from MS and Nintendo! With this new model costing $50 more than the Wii and offering more tech that the Wii has, and being at about the same price as the 360... it's clear that Sony are planning to battle this holiday season!

This should be good for all gamers!

If thats the case I'm defo sold - that was the only sticking point for me about the slim.

Disappointed about the lack of otheros, but to be honest, the linux scene really hasn't taken to the ps3 as much as I expected.

The PS3 linux scene would of picked up more if they were given access to the GPU too. It seems they were going the right way by giving YDL access to the GPU memory too, just need the actual processer now.

ist because there not het sensetive its a electrical switch between the on sign and the / reset and yout finger completes the circuit , test it ese a piece of metal to conect them and it starts

yah def, to me in the pics it looked reallly flat and allot longer then its phaty counterpart. and another it looked like the top was really shiny like it had a pattern in the top, shiny, plain, shiny,plain and countinue.

I'm with you Dragon. I, as many will agree, love that tiny beep that accompanies the subtle action of lightly resting your finger on the surface for a split second before hearing the orchestral tune opening up. It was a nice little 'touch' to an aesthetically pleasing design.

Only problem i see from the engaget pics is the blue screw is right in the PS3 slim and i stripped the blue screw last time on my big PS3 strait away and had to get a pair of small pliers to twist it :( so im worried about getting my 320gb hard drive over

i actualy like how it looks. in the pictures i thought it looked longer then the original, and was much more flat on top. but seeing this video shows me its isn't. I like the idea of no fingerprint on top. My ps3 is really scratched up cus wen i clean the fingerprints , it leaves scratch marks. I think i will buy this wen it comes out and give the old on eto my bro.

My 80 gb model has PlayStation 3 written with inserted metal and i love it. I dont like the slim like i was expecting to like it, is like a downgrade in My Honest Opinion, but for a $100 less and less energy consumption Bring It On.

The real photos of the slim were shown a month ago in a N$G article and most could not belive they were true(me included) because is such a letdown.
