Persona 6 on PS5 is the Perfect Chance to Break One Series' Mainstay

"It's time a female takes the lead", but they have....twice, no 3 times. Is the same person writing these childish articles on persona 6? As long as it's good, it doesn't matter if the lead is male or female.

Yeah, that's something I don't care about either way. Wouldn't mind if the lead was female, as long as it's as well done as the games usually are then have at it. Same for possible same sex relationships if they do that.

For me, I say devs can experiment away with their IP, as long as whatever's produced clearly has the same thought and effort behind it as what came before*.

*of course, I'm assuming we're talking about series know for being high quality like Persona lol!

I've been hoping for P4 Golden on PS4 for a while now, but unfortunately it's still not a thing.
Now I might just have to hope for a re-release on PS5 instead.

Seems a sad way to live being concerned about others' creativity because it doesn't align with their social justice mindset. Why not just enjoy the game without having your agenda ruin everything? If the creators come up with a female lead, fine, but let them do it how they want, not because they were forced to.

Seems sadder that SJW inclusion has become a spectacle, and somehow a reason to say that games...or other media....need to include it because they've reached some milestone that ignores the fact that things become popular regardless of these things, because they are popular for different reasons.

And I'm not even someone who is put off by games that offer romance choices like this. Some of my favorite games on Vita, or last gen have had these kinds of things without all the pandering.

Just let the devs create P6 the way they want to create it.

I have only known about this site for a few months and I already hate it, they just write so much crap. When it comes to this game, Gamerant seems to only be interested in gender politics. The last thing we want is another Polygon and Kotaku.

Like what has been echoed here, I don't really agree with forcing in female leads or whatever for the sake of diversity, it should be down to the discretion of the developers. In fact, their history has shown they are definitely not opposed to the idea. In fact, they have written some really well made, impactful female characters. For example:

Maki Sonomura (P1): whilst not explicitly the main character, in fact I'd argue that Maki is actually the main character, seeing as the plot is focused on the collective unconsciousness and Maki's many selves. In fact, I think she carries the game lol. (as well as Nanjo)

Maya Amano (P2): arguably, at least for me, the most well written main character in the whole of the Persona series. Despite what the article says, Eternal Punishment isn't a spin-off, lol

LGBT representation has been a bit up or down, and whilst personally I was heartbroken about the fact I couldn't date Ryuji, again it's up to the developers' discretion, and they're no strangers to doing it correctly. Whilst the article seems to insinuate that all of the main characters are straight men, again they're wrong. Tatsuya is bisexual, and you can even confess your feelings for Jun (a gay character) in a way which is natural. Again, after the Eternal Punishment comment I didn't expect the author to actually know anything about those games.
