Looks amazing. Getting it day one. How could anyone deny playstation being amazing when time after time they release amazing exclusive games. Getting ps5 day one. Ghost of tsushima looks unreal

-Foxtrot1481d ago

Same

I'm more hyped up for this then the Last of Us Part II now

SyntheticForm1481d ago

I agree.

Have had it preordered forever.

Can't wait to tear into this.

-Foxtrot1481d ago

@SyntheticForm

Yeah luckily I managed to get the collectors edition pre ordered, looks well deserved at this point.

https://img.game.co.uk/imag...

Just a shame the steelbook isn't as colourful as the game, it's like looking at a painting.

darthv721481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

Same here fox. this game is on a whole other level of epic than even that epic engine reveal.

This one comment in the YT feed made me chuckle. "When GoT is more Assassin Creed than Assassin Creed..."

So true.

GTgamer1481d ago

Am I the only who had a crappy stream thank God sony re-uploaded it in 4k this game looks amazing

The Wood1481d ago

Choices. . Choices . . . . .for some

umair_s511481d ago

I's got that Far cry vibe, any one else feels that?

naruga1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

seems very good and promising ....i ll buy it for sure (contrary to LOUS2 ..that i m not so sure i want it) ..also it have some minor things that could improve ...a bit more meaty battle system (smtig like the difficult enemies of Sekiro ) were you feel the weight of every sword move and the clashes of the swords ....also the lighting while is superb in some areas is a bit cheap in others (in rainy days seems very bright that makes everything a shawdoy-black) ....no matter what i m waiting for this

--Onilink--1481d ago

Really liking the BotW style exploration/open world with their own really cool touches like using animals for the final stretch of discovery.

I really wish more devs start taking the approach of these 2 games and let exploration and navigation be more than just following waypoints

morganfell1481d ago

Since it was announced it has been my most anticipated of the generation and now it is paying off. Jumped on the Collector's Edition day one. This is why the PS5 reveal can wait a few more months.

bouzebbal1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

I understand Sony didn't show much of ps5 yet, no need to risk overshadowing this beauty!!
Ps4 life ending with a bang in 2020.. Dreams, Ff7 tlou2 and this... Thank you PlayStation you deserve my money

sampsonon1481d ago

yeah, only difference is The Last Of Us 2 is going to blow your fucking mind and then crush your skull.

morganfell1481d ago

"yeah, only difference is The Last Of Us 2 is going to blow your fucking mind and then crush your skull."

Not mine. I am not going near that game. Naughty Dog is dead. Long live Sucker Punch.

UltraNova1481d ago

umair_s51,

Hm, maybe It has a slight FC camp liberation vibe but it's more like Tenchu and AC made a baby.

S2Killinit1480d ago (Edited 1480d ago )

Getting both. I would kick myself if i didnt play TLOU2. Its Naughty Gods, it will be epic.

On Topic: this game is now a must buy for me. I wanted it before, but now I have no doubts.

Babadook71480d ago

I wasn't impressed with the live stream. Looked like 480p quality with heavy macro blocking. Now that I've seen this footage I'm very impressed.

mikeslemonade1480d ago (Edited 1480d ago )

This game is overrated and souls is better. Also it’s limited by old ps4 hardware. Has lame Witcher 3 style overworld.

My gf is Japanese and hates video games but her neck spun around to face the computer when I was watching this for some reason. She said Tsushima is an actual place in Japan. The more you know 🤷🏾‍♂️

AnubisG1481d ago

And the game is based on actual events in japanese history too.

1481d ago
JonTheGod1481d ago

@joejoejoe
Brag about what? That he has an actual gf??

NewEnds01861480d ago

It's based in real places but it's a fictional story.

morganfell1480d ago

In addition to over all history works on Japan that recount the events, here are 4 books I own that deal specifically with the two Mongol invasions. Two versions of Yamadas work, but it is Takezaki's work in particular that shows the ferocious defense mounted by the Japanese that for some time office sitting historians did not think occurred.

starchild1481d ago

Yeah, I can't wait to play it. Ghost of Tsushima has been one of my most anticipated games since it was announced. Looks awesome.

hulk_bash19871481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

Have my collectors edition already pre-ordered. A Samurai/ninja open world game from Sucker Punch? I was in from day 1. This indepth look confirms three playthoughs for me. One completely as a Samurai, one full Ghost playthrough and one completely in Ninja Cinema mode. July cant come soon enough.

imtiyaz61481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

Remember 2013? The media and the Xbox fanboys were constantly talking s@&t about the PS4 not having any games? They’re gonna do the same for PS5. Playstation has a track record of always delivering when it comes to games. They’ve delivered for 4 gens, nobody should doubt them again.

Minute Man 7211481d ago

The PSX n PS2 mainly relied on 3rd party exclusives. It all changed with the PS3

Kiwi661481d ago

So are going to ignore all the years that some people continue with the narrative that xbox has no games, you are the definition of having selective memory

Minute Man 7211481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

@ the disgrees

How many 3rd party games were made for the Dreamcast? Did EA release Madden or Live on the Dreamcast?

The PSX n PS2 relied mainly on 3rd party exclusives. Disagree with facts lol 😆

GTA 3 pushed how many PS2s........

TheRealHeisenberg1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

I doubt them all the time. Will continue to do so...just because I can

Melankolis1481d ago

@Minute Man
"The PSX n PS2 mainly relied on 3rd party exclusives. It all changed with the PS3"

So what? I don't see any problem here...
PlayStation's library always top-notch with or without 1st party exclusives, and i think it's a good thing.

rainslacker1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

I dunno. I can't see how any Xbox fan boy could seriously even try to use the "PS has no games" thing next gen and not be ripped apart by the opposing side. You can't go 4 years with fewer games than Sony's lowest output in history in a single year, including launch years, and use that old chestnut.

Tapani1481d ago

Does anyone know if this was base PS4 or PS4 Pro? Because it looks more like base than Pro to me.

This is actually a must buy, the gameplay and setting looks amazing. I liked the Sekiro vibes, but the Samurai combat was something truly unique, I absolutely loved that part, being a fan of Kurosawa movies. Japanese have a saying "Shiniyaku" for samurai movies, which means how you act once you have been sliced with a sword. They nailed that part with the animations.

Few things I didn't like were the Witcher-esque open world map with question marks and fast travel options, I wanted this to be more like Demon's Souls/Sekiro. The way the character picks up stuff without an animation is also a bit strange, looks a bit like PS2 era. Also, some of the graphics were better than the others, some animations were clipping and so forth. I feel like the game is a masterpiece, but it needed 12 months more in the oven. They have around 8 weeks to polish it up if this was, say, 2 weeks old build.

1481d ago
MajorLazer1481d ago

Hope the wind and animals guiding you can be toned down. Natural exploration with the odd visual hint via wind/animals would be nice, rather than constant animals guiding you like a disney film and wind that is too shiny and bright.

rainslacker1481d ago

i'm excited to finally see a game that uses more real Samurai type fighting styles, instead of just calling it Ninja's or Samurai but being all hacky slash....although there was some of that in this video as well.

TheEroica1480d ago

Nothing that was shown looked amazing or even new... Stop this ridiculous fanboy talk. That game looked as run of the mill as I've seen... Completely void of original gameplay.

Flewid6381480d ago

No day 1 for me but I'm definitely buying PlayStation for life. The platform is so damn godly.

NeoGamer2321480d ago

I can't wait to play this game.

It is a nice combo of Red Dead open world, meets Uncharted close and stealthy, meets your typical collectathon!

DOMination-1480d ago

b163o11481d ago

Damn, I hate to say this, but I going to wait to play this on the PS5, i don't have a Pro and every one of the gameplay videos is captured on a Pro, and it's too late to upgrade. So PS5 day1 I'll be playing GoT...

Abnor_Mal1481d ago

Yes agreed, Nintendo has to step up next gen.

EazyC1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

I would guess RaidenBlack meant from MS, Sony doesn't ostensibly compete with Nintendo.

Abnor_Mal1481d ago

@EasyC, yes I believe he also did not mean Ninty, but I had a stick and decided to have a laugh and poke the bear.

Shane Kim1481d ago

Nintendo is more of a competition than MS. This gen has been absolutly horrendous for MS. How anyone can defend them is just beyond me.

savedsynner1481d ago

Nintendo has the family/kid market locked up flat. As long as they keep releasing amazing first party games you can't get anywhere else, they'll always do well.

day 1 for me

Jin_Sakai1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

Exactly what I was going to say. The Samurai Cinema mode with Japanese voiceover looks great. Can’t wait!

Hopefully we get a 4K feed soon. The stream quality was awful.

Edit: 4K footage is up. https://youtu.be/Ur0pQblaZc...

-Foxtrot1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

Sad thing is when they finally do Japan in AC no one will be as wowed because other games will have done it.

It seems more Assassins Creed than the last 3 Assassins Creed games...

Movefasta19931481d ago

Unless, unless they actually make it a pure stealth title which a pipe dream.

RaidenBlack1481d ago

Yeah, Exactly! Was Thinking the same especially during the "Jin as Ghost" part.

-Foxtrot1481d ago

@Movefasta1993

Totally a pipe dream

I mean how many titles did it take them to add a crouch button for Stealth? Says it all really,

JEECE1481d ago

As much as I hate to say it, if they do AC: Japan, it will inevitably sell better than this game, regardless of how much better this is

throne1481d ago

who knows, ubisoft might decide to go the way of the ninja after this game

outsider16241481d ago

@Jeeze
Also note, for Sucker Punch this is a new IP. Ubisofts AC games are like what now..i lost count.

sho0ok3601481d ago

That was the same thought I had, the game looks very similar to HZD from the overlay to the bow, to the horse/machine riding...etc.

Are they using the same engine?

Kavorklestein1481d ago (Edited 1481d ago )

Looks pretty and I like the Music. I like some of the Immersion design choices. And the Animals.
But why in the hell do the people go flying 10 feet when hit with an Arrow? First time I've ever seen what is meant to be a standard/normal bow behave like a Ballista projectile.

absolutely stunning game and I didn't think I'd ever say it but the temptation is there to play it in the black & white mode with the Japanese voice options

BLUEBLASTER1481d ago

100% with the Japnese voices but Ill have to do colour first then black and white

monkey6021481d ago

It does look incredible in black and white though. It looks like a lot of effort went into getting the contrast just right and the motion of the environment so that it becomes a genuinely viable way of playing the game

Also the score sounds amazing

ravinash1480d ago

Definitely with the Japanese voice option, but I wouldn't want to miss out on all that colour.
It's great that you get to choose.

Playing this at a locked 175 fps on an OLED ultra wide at max settings is truly awe inspiring. A great way to replay this classic.

Psychonaut859d ago

Sweet! Glad to see it make the jump. Hopefully the PSN requirement doesn’t put too many people off. I think it’s only if you plan to play the Legends mode. It’s bullshit, but at least you can access the main game without making a PSN profile if that bothers you. I know on PC everyone’s sick of everyone trying to push their own launchers and shit.

Deeeeznuuuts9d ago

It's really not that big of a deal, PC players just love to complain, my friend has quite a few launches and never once complained, really no issues at all 😂😂😂 28514;

Goodguy019d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Indeed. It's for the trophies and online. I just hope Sony doesn't require ps plus subscription at some point for their online games. PC gamers have dealt with 3rd party launchers forever, just a bunch of silly complaints, nothing different.

just_looken9d ago

@dee

Right how dare those 180 countries that had this game listed a month ago but no longer do complain about a forced new regulation that is blocking the sale of the game even in japan.

Then you got the fact many countries need a goverment id to check if your legally a adult.

I have a psn account that is not linked to my steam account as having any form of vpn/antivirus and even something like discord can break there psn TOS. If your psn account gets banned via pc bs then your entire consoles online are bricked as do too them needing real information we all only have one account now.

FinalFantasyFanatic9d ago

I don't mind having a few launchers, just don't make me log into it all the time, it's astounding that some developers still persist with having their own launchers.

just_looken9d ago

Its a greed deal

Alot of them wanted to leave steam so they would not pay that 30% charge but then there overall number of sales dropped opps so now there back but with there launcher as a leach because all these games have attached bullshit like ubi points or capcom rewards/stat tracking even the activation launcher that needs to be a thing for cheaters/stat track i think even trophies to a extent.

Just be glad we do not have a sony launcher as it would no doubt be fighting rockstar for most unsecured worst launcher on pc.

anast9d ago

So we are lovin' PSN now? How fickle the herd is.

Aloymetal9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Some people love to complain but if it wasn't for Sony themselves they wouldn't be playing these amazing 1st party games on their PeeZees.

anast9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

As long as your not serious, welcome to the party.

This is fun. My turn.

Yeah, all 10 people that can actually afford a decent PC isn't much. This is why they are drip feeding PC gamers because they'll eat up 10 year old games like they're new, and that's all 10 of them. Consoles gamers already wore that shoe, you all are getting leftovers.

Your turn

Number1TailzFan9d ago

@ anast uhh, looks like the video is showing last gen (soon to be 2 gen old) GPUs running it pretty well to me? I mean if you can't keep your PC decently current then that's hardly the devs fault now is it?

Shiore2u9d ago

@anast

You really need to stop trying so hard, it's getting downright embarrassing. Brand loyalty is a stupid endeavor, accept it, learn from it and move on.

FinalFantasyFanatic9d ago

@anast,
A 7-year-old GPU can trade blows with a PS5 in performance, I don't think it's going to be that hard to match/beat the PS5, especially if you look at the second hand market for parts.

"also available via the Epic Games Store"

I'm pretty sure Epic Games Store is available in over 190 countries and 30 territories. So anyone that said that this game was not available in them was just lying.

I'm so shocked by games journalists and fauxragers lying. Really shocked. I do pity them though. I can't imagine going through life with such anger... at everything.

bunt-custardly10d ago

Hehe, you do know how much PC players whine about having multiple store platforms when really all they want is Steam to run a monopoly. Thank ye heavens for Gog and Epic.

Giblet_Head10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

When Steam is one of the very few actually trying with it's feature set it's a hard sell to get people to want something on a storefront that could care less about improving it's service. GoG is another exception, but Epic, which is still missing many features that have been on Steam for years like every other publisher just half-ass it, so they've earned and continue to maintain their poor reception and presumably act confused come every quarterly report for failure to understand the market they're in. Who really wants to invest in something that actively instills little faith?

bunt-custardly9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Interesting answer from co-pilot when asked what are the differences between EGS and Steam.

Copilot
The Epic Game Store (EGS) and Steam are both digital distribution platforms for PC games, but they have some key differences:

Game Selection: Steam has a larger selection of games, including both indie and AAA titles, and has been established longer, since 20031. EGS, while newer, offers a curated selection of games, including timed exclusives and titles not available on other platforms1.

Revenue Split: EGS offers a more favorable revenue split for developers, taking only a 12% cut compared to Steam’s 20-30%, which can be a big draw for game publishers1.

Free Games: EGS is known for its regular giveaways of free games, which has been a major feature since its launch in December 20181. Steam also offers free games, but less frequently1.

User Interface: Steam provides a more feature-rich experience with user reviews, community discussions, game streaming, and non-gaming software. EGS has a more streamlined interface, focusing on a simpler user experience1.

Social Features: Both platforms offer social features like friends lists and chat functionality, but Steam’s community features are more extensive, including groups, forums, and user profiles1.

Exclusivity: EGS has secured exclusive deals for certain games, making them available only on their platform for a limited time before they can be purchased elsewhere1.

These are some of the main differences that set the two stores apart. Each platform has its own strengths and caters to different preferences and needs.

Co-Pilot forgot to mention: Both offer software, but Steam is very much more in-tune with VR with its Steam VR integration.

Giblet_Head9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

@bunt-custardly
I wouldn't take AI as gospel, especially a corporate one that ends most every answer with meaningless neutral ambiguity. You're better off actually talking to humans that use either and have something to lose, be it time, energy or financial investment. Personal experiences AI can't relate to.
