Bloodborne takes 40 hours to complete

It has been reported that Bloodborne takes around "40-45 hours to complete", however the Dark Souls games took on average around 65 hours to complete the main quest plus extras, so the likelihood is that Bloodborne will last at least up to 50 hours depending on how much you want to get out of it.

a game length that long means I'll never finish it.

chrismichaels043376d ago (Edited 3376d ago )

As a huge Demons Souls fan, Bloodborne is easily my most anticipated game of March. With Bloodborne, The Order 1886, MLB15 The Show and some excellent indie titles in between (like HellDivers), the PS4 is already off to a pretty good start in 2015.

kreate3376d ago

Hope platinum trophy isnt too hard.

S2Killinit3376d ago (Edited 3376d ago )

Yup, Bloodborne and Helldivers are the games to have if your a true gamer.

The indie titles alone is a major pain in the wallet. Hotline Miami 2, Helldivers, Titan Souls, Axiom Verge and then some.
I'm not much for indie titles usually but these aren't your typical hipster indies.

madworld3375d ago

In my humble opinion I think it good enough for almost all players 40-45H and that for professional players but other players they will take more then 60h

40-45 is good for hard games!!!!!!!!

showtimefolks3375d ago

damn its gonna take forever

Forn3375d ago

Knowing how long it takes me to finish a playthrough on a Souls game due to me wanting to find as much as I can before a reset, Bloodborne will probably at least take me more like 60+ hours to beat my first playthough.

Stay positive, play 1 hour each day for 40 days. If this is true then it's a great improvement over DS and DS 2 which we're short if the player was really good.

uth113376d ago

yeah, that's the only way I'll get through it. I haven't played a Souls game before, I'm concerned I'll get sick of dying and give up.

morganfell3375d ago

The 40 hours in the article above is still subjective. Edge did not get to play all of the game and one of their staff still logged 45 hours.

AKS3375d ago

@uth11 Set realistic expectations for yourself. FROM's recent action/RPGs aren't designed to allow you to button mash your way through them, but they are generally pretty fair. In the Souls games, if you kept your shield up and developed skill instead of trying to button mash your way through, it was not nearly as tough as many would lead you to believe. Compared to the games I played as a kid, such as Ghosts 'n Goblins, Shadow of the Beast 1 and 2, Ninja Gaiden, and Battletoads to name a few, the Souls games are very fair and far less difficult. Shadow of the Beast 2 was a friggin' nightmare by comparison.

Bobertt3375d ago

Wtf do you throw a game away after the first day? If you play the game for 2 hours a day you can beat in 3 weeks. That is a decent length and great value.

uth113375d ago

There are a lot of other games vying for my limited time. Still haven't even finished the Order.

wolf5813375d ago

i spend 55 hours on dying light and i m planing to spend much more on bloodborne i will search every corner i will play it single and coop...still not enough i hope to give us dlc too...good timing for new update 2,50 too restmode aaand back where i stoped YES

Bobertt3375d ago

If you really didn't beat The order yet you have too many games your trying to play or your too busy to play games. The order is the shortest game I've ever played. It took me 6 hours to platinum, you could do in less if you don't go for trophies too. You need to choose one or two games and stick to it. If you keep jumping around you never gonna finish any of them. If you don't have time to finish the games you have now don't buy the new ones until your ready. They will probably be patched and cheaper by the time your ready and you get to enjoy the games more.

uth113375d ago

yes I have too many games and not enough time, so when I see a game that says it takes 40 hours, it's a turn off, I don't want to buy it because I know I'll never get through it.

Blasphemy3375d ago

thats an incredibly long time for me, ill probably never finish it. i can understand why you guys complain about only 9 hour games but if you have a wife, kids, other priorities in life, 9 hour games are plenty enough if they have online component to.

40 hours is just about enough for me.

However, I am seeing blind comments here that reminds me of The Order. Stay tuned folks, and watch yer mouths... wouldn't want to look like a jackass at release day now.

How about sequels instead of just replaying the same games with better performance and fidelity?

I would’ve taken a Dead Space 4 over Dead Space 1 Remake, especially knowing the sales on 1 Remake killed anything for the future.

xHeavYx12d ago

I agree, but there are some games that would really benefit from the new tech though, like the first 2 InFamous games. Some of the old Tenchu games (for us old people)

darthv7212d ago

No remasters needed... things can be upgraded with post release patches and DLC. There should be more new games or at least sequels that people have been asking for. Give me Bloodborne 2 over a remaster any day.

anast12d ago

I agree. But, sadly, at this point, I would day 1 a Bloodborne remake or remaster.

neutralgamer199212d ago

There are many new games being released monthly so there is space for remakes and remasters

MinnesotaFatts12d ago

You say that, but the only way I can get 60fps on Bloodborne is with a cracked console.

D0nkeyBoi12d ago

This is the most boring console generation yet. I can only ever find new games on Steam. PS5 and especially Xbox are boring right now. Less more remakes please.

anast12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

I enjoy renting a new janky CRPGs on PC from time to time. But, I've been playing new games on the PS5 since it came out, and a lot of those games people want to come to PC because the game selection sucks over there.

Fishy Fingers12d ago

PC game selection sucks?

Come on bro, its cool to like your console but but no need for the obvious passive aggressive comments. PC and Nintendo are basically the only platforms with exclusives these days. PC is getting all the big console (PS5/XB) games sooner or later.

anast12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

All the CRPGs I care to play/rent have come to console for the most part. No need to use my gaming PC much these days. Now, those old games are severely overpriced on console which would be a point to argue.

slayernz12d ago

what you on about mate???? lol, i never said anything about AAA only being on console, i replied to original post from donkey saying heaps of games out there, ....just chill out bud

slayernz12d ago

think you should open your eyes mate, there are a ton of games to play, i havent played a so called 'AAA' game in about a year, been having way too much fun with indies

anast12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

I play Indies on console. My eyes are open. You might need the eye opening if you think only AAA games are on console.

Friendlygamer12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

Remasters are interesting for less accessible titles, things like silent hill 4 the room, alundra, viewtiful joe... remastering stuff that's already avaliable is a bit of a waste. I would love a kings field/shadow tower collection

truthBombs12d ago

A simple update or port on more powerful hardware is enough. Improve framerates to 60+ and that's good enough. I would love to play Bloodborne on Steam Deck.

anast12d ago

If they optimized Bloodborne like they did with Doom. I would have that game on every device in the house.
