Microsoft Thanks Itagaki For Years of Support

When Tomonobu Itagaki dropped a bombshell late last night telling us through a translator that he was not only leaving Team Ninja but suing his former employer, it was pretty stunning.

Temco later declined to comment saying that they were aware of his statement but unwilling to say more. Now Microsoft is chiming in, responding to our request for comment, thanking Itagaki for his years of Xbox support.

Hope Microsoft offers him his own studio. That way MS will own the best First party action game studio.

Mwaan5837d ago

But I hope he doesn't go through with that World War 2 game... Hopefully Microsoft will talk him back into making games that require you to chop people into pieces with swords.

qwert5836d ago

Yes to make another games like NG2!

qwert5836d ago

For the guy that agreed whith me: NG2 SUCKS!

Mr Fancy Pants5837d ago

Itagaki goes with MS i buy an X360!

avacadosnorkel5837d ago

it's not like things will be any different than what they have been all along with the guy.

mboojigga5837d ago

If he does that means new exclusive IP's

bigbomber5837d ago

MAYBE HE COULD PUT AN APP AT SONY.

chaosatom3335837d ago

he probably get rejected for being arrogant.

Qbanboi5837d ago (Edited 5837d ago )

xD MS better give him something else than a simple "thanks" or else fans are gonna be mad.

decapitator5837d ago

Not everyone is fond of hiring someone who will sue his employer when misunderstanding comes about. Good luck to him finding a new job. Unless he starts his own studio or he already had a new home before quitting.

TheSadTruth5837d ago

I'm sorry but he was just not good at his job. His Xbox titles were good but NG2 and the new DOA or basically the same games with slightly crisper graphics (even the graphics are almost the same). I'm glad to see him go to be honest.

mikeslemonade5837d ago

Wow so all along he was with Microsoft. I should have known with all the ridiculous comments he has been saying. This man was payed to say those things!

CrashSharc5837d ago

Hopefully MS takes him under their payroll, he really does epitomize everything Microsoft represents...

I don't know if to cry or laugh about this guy quitting his job. As a fan of his games and a hater of his personality and his c0cky attitude, I wish him well.

Easy not enough developpers to add content to the game (palworld)

Profchaos19h ago

That's the thing with gaming there's always new experiences to have why spend months or years playing a single game when there's a new experience right around the corner.

Indie or AAA if your building your game expecting long term player counts you'll probably be disappointed as gamers often enjoy something for a few weeks and move on only to return if it's truely a classic.

Out of all the generations I've experienced there's games from 30 plus years ago I still dust off and play like super Mario bros, earthbound, vice city and san Andreas being games I treasure and revisit every few years but I'm not going back to play a game designed to keep me engaged for months on end because it's also designed to milk my wallet in most cases.

Build a great game that people love make it playable offline and ask does it matter if the concurrent player count is under 100 a year post launch more often that not it doesn't

The price of entry is too high to take chances like I used to. Was looking at V Rising and that ranges from $50-$130 CAD. That’s a lot for an indie imo. By the time it goes on sale, the player count might be dwindling. But that’s the trade-off, I guess.

I’m glad my preference is single player experiences, Indie devs got me covered 👊🏻

Flewid63811h ago

Indie devs dont make multiplayer games?
