Havok Physics 5.5 provides a new level of continuous multi-platform physics optimization as well as enhanced collision query optimizations especially for the PLAYSTATION®3.
Havok Animation 5.5 delivers developers and artists improved tools and technology including Spline based compression, export of Float Channels for morph target support, and Multithreading optimizations. Together these enhancements deliver better performance by reducing memory consumption, giving the animator full control over compression accuracy compression and providing constant time depression. Havok Animation 5.5's easy to use export, sampling and blending capabilities allows developers to significantly cut content creation times and memory requirements
GB: "We take a look at 15 amazing games that had the perfect length."
Pretty good list. Botany Manor would be the newest addition that encapsulates that title.
Talal writes: "I'm talking about having that rush of excitement - that feeling you get when you know you've just made a memory for a lifetime."
There are different games. Some have gamplay at it highest priority, some have the story, some have the replay value and choices... There are a lot of different game experiences.
It is laughable that just now graphics does not have anything to do with that experiene. We have had many games of that type over time. This is just the one that have come closest to feel like playing an actual movie. Just look the the Digital foundry walkthrough it is a masterpiece in that perspective and hence wrth trying. But yes do not do it for the gameplay - but that was never the goal of this experience.
Headquartered in Poland, Elsewhere Entertainment — an all-new internal studio at Activision — is working on a new “narrative-based and genre-defining AAA franchise.” Elsewhere includes developers credited on The Last of Us, Uncharted, Destiny, Cyberpunk, and more. Activision’s new studio announcement comes just a week after its parent company, Microsoft, closed three Bethesda studios. It also follows job postings about a new Activision IP.
The game industry confuses, closing down proven studios only open a new studio?
I think this is just a publicity stunt and that this studio never actually produces a game. Someone at Microsoft was like were getting cooked in the media after they closed these studios and they came up with a plan to create some dummy studio someplace outside of the reach of the English speaking presses reach to distract people.
"Oh hey we're not closing studios we're actually creating studios"
And of course what are they working on... the type of game that gets the most popular public perception a narrative driven story based game... ya know not the thing Activision and Microsoft are known for.
Can anyone Elaborate ?.
making Havok better means more reallist games = YAY
and Rikitatsu maybe since the ps3 has more "raw processing power" then other systems they will tweak Havok it to take advantage of it?
I hear the ps3 is good at processing boxes falling over, and boxes in general.. hell I bet the ps3s Box processing capabilities is why MGS4 is ps3 exclusive
the ps3 ... we don't want issues

I'd like to see the cloth physics in action, it sounds like it'll really make an impact on game realism :D!
It's optimized for the PS3 because the cell processor is way better than the 360's CPU for physics; not just "twice", but a lot more than that. The Cell processor truly destroys the Xenos, just look at all the tests that have been made. The 360 CPU can't even do graphics, it would be pointless to try
Since you've been posting in N4G for quite some time already, anyone would think that you'd know that.
