I would say less broke people in general is a good thing.

I agree in that this is not something I am interested in at all. Maybe the target is a Horizon game that doesn’t require a mature audience and can be sold to kids. Just a thought. 🤷

I am a collector have a room dedicated with a couple original arcade cabinets, physical game library, old and new consoles and controllers backlit with LED lighting. It’s very cool to have but with emulation being so strong and prevalent, I sometimes feel foolish because the hobby is expensive and like another said, the full game is not always on the disc. Could probably spend more wisely but I enjoy it.

Article makes a great point and I agree with it but is spoiler heavy. It should be marked. If you haven’t played through the game be warned as it even spoils parts of act 3.

I with you. I got the email is well. Happy to eventually own a physical copy and glad it’s not digital only.

Agreed on the first significant technical leap of this gen. When I see video or even often photos of older games I can almost always immediately point to which generation they were a part of.

I believe Hellblade 2 and maybe Ratchet and Clank are the only games so far that I will see on a screen a decade from now and be able to immediately identify them as gen 9 games.

FTC hasn’t broken a monopoly in 41 years nor did they properly regulate financial institutions prior to the Great Recession. They have been reactionary and less than helpful for quite some time now.

You aren’t wrong. Take Two has figured out how to monetize the franchise. That is for sure!

Good question. I feel the industry is less capable of offering new generation defining experiences when tied to tech that is now over a decade old.

If cross-gen no monies from me.

I’m old enough to remember when NBA 2K was actually a great experience.

Exactly and going digital only is not going to help.

If they had a physical release I would definitely make the purchase.

The 3DO was ahead of its time and one of the first to enter the 32 bit console space. Yes FMV games are awful, but at the time there was a real thirst for games to look like movies. Removing the FMV games the 3DO had Gex, a solid Myst port, and was often the best place to play non-SNK (best on NEO GEO) near arcade perfect arcade ports. Their downfall was poor marketing and a high price point for a time when consoles were considered to be kids toys.

It was certainly superior...

I would imagine so. Microsoft will want and potentially need to maximize sales.

Loved the original Hades. Can’t wait!

I won’t either. I am a dirty save scummer who definitely lacks honor on my dice rolls and checks. Not turning TAV into a squid just because I wanted a few parasites burrowed into his brain. Lol

No this was not common in the 90s and virtually non-existent in the console space which is where FF16 was originally released. The PC version is near but yet to be released.

When I purchased a game on console in the 90s I payed for it once, and got the full experience. Bugs and all, no patches.

Your right about early adopters risk which is my primary complaint. In today’s gaming space it makes more sense to be patient and pay less for a full experience. ...

I really enjoyed this game. It was in my top 3 last year, but it begs the question, why did I make a day 1 purchase? I want to support games/franchises I enjoy by making a full price purchase at release. However, that decision often seems to be the wrong one from a consumer perspective.

It’s no wonder AAA gaming is beginning to struggle. I reward the developer by paying full price and then am expected to pay more again later for the full experience. I’m done being the sucke...

Terrible idea. Not only do I not consent to providing my biometric data, the potential for mishandling biometric data is almost a certainty. Positive stress and negative stress can produce similar changes in biometrics. Interpreting the precise emotion a person is feeling is not only invasive but could be easily misconstrued. I hope this never comes to fruition.
