If he "believes" rather than having anything that points to facts, then he's spreading misinformation.

Yes, it's their money and their choice. However, anyone has the right to form an opinion. So anyone has the right to judge. If a person's business is out there for the public to see, then it's fair game to be judge.

Edit- anast gets it. I wouldn't have even wasted my time commenting had I read his/hers first.

You know, I put COD out of my mind so much I didn't even know Black Ops 5 came and gone

Agreed.

I can't even add anything to that .

@MrBaskerville

Yeah I know some devs did claim that. But many of those same devs are now talking about how they're having a hard time because gamer's "purchase behavior" has changed.

I'll take you at your word on your project being greenlit because of gamepass exposure. But that's just a house of cards. Is your next game going to be subsidized by Microsoft like the first one was? Numerous devs already said MS, Epic, nor Sony pay ...

Yeah, but with people and their short memories, I'm sure a good portion here forgot all about that

4d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah, and one of that company's former executives OPENLY admitted that. And before anyone says I'm lying:

Also, yeah plenty of people that are here now don't remember when this place was a haven for xbox. You have people like "The Mart at Xbox Kings" push all sorts of prop...

Games haven't succeeded because of gamepass. They just gained an audience. If a game can't financially sustain itself it's not going to be successful.

Being on gamepass can get you a player base sure. But if they aren't paying for your game and getting it for pennies on the dollar along with every other game on the service, how successful can it really be?

5d ago 9 agree3 disagreeView comment

The only way it pays off is if a dev gets enough of a payout from MS that it can cover either the cost of development or loss of potential sales (sometimes both)

If you know your game can sell well it more than likely not worth it. Even if you're a decent selling indie, you may find out it's not worth it.

Think about Cuphead when that first came out on Xbox. They would have lost a ton of sales had that been a day one game

What we need is a more honest games media. I'm sorry but if you're an outlet in bed with a publisher or getting goodies to attend preview/ review events then you can't be trusted to be objective. Very similar to the need for getting money out of politics.

At what point does this start to become spam?

Do we need an article on every major order or randomized event in the game?

7d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

I'm glad you mentioned that last part.

We've already seen devs talk about how those once big checks that platform holders gave devs for putting their products on subscription services get smaller. Which is something I spoke about repeatedly. Of course they were going to get smaller as the sub services became more common.

It's as if some of these devs don't know the basics of economy. Either that or they're too greedy to care and the fa...

Well, that's common sense. You can't condition people to play things on gamepass for pennies on the dollar and then turn around and expect them to buy it at full price. And when anyone brings it up, they're labeled jealous, fanboys, haters, etc.

But hey, the same devs that are talking about this "behavioral shift" are probably the same ones that were praising game pass 3 or 4 years ago.

@RpgSama

Nobody is defending anything.

People are just pointing out the fact that after they just cried about the game not being historically accurate, when they SHOW they're accurate, they cry about it because they don't like certain parts of history

Not to mention you contradicted yourself RPGSama. You just pointed out you said they "ONLY because they wanted to be historically accurate". Then turn around and accuse t...

They were probably hoping to get all the whiners and complainers out of the way now in hopes that they'll tire themselves out by time the game releases. I doubt that'll work but that's the only thing I can think of

You'd be shocked. But yeah, in the feudal era they very much were.

Lexreborn2 is right

Go read up on Japan's feudal era homosexuality and bisexuality was a very common thing in that time.

I just have to laugh because the same people complaining about this are the same ones crying about wanting "historical accuracy". When it's clear most of the whiners don't even know history themselves.

8d ago 13 agree20 disagreeView comment

Yeah, they do that routinely with both GTA and Red Dead.

But it's because they know they can still sell them so they take them off and on to these sub services in cycle.

The weird thing to me is why is anyone still buying those games at this point? You would think after 3 generations of being sold GTA 5 that everyone and their momma would have it by now

8d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

If people have a problem with the developer/ writer/ creator/ whatever rather than the ACTUAL content then that's a personal problem. Having nothing to do with historical accuracy.

The problem here is people seem to NEED things to whine and cry about.
