Whether or not you’re familiar with the original, Darkest Dungeon 2 is definitely a game to look out for.

I personally didn't enjoy 2 as much as I did 1. Actually didn't even finish it.
I do praise that they didn't just carbon copy the 1st game and added more of everything, but I think that during the process a lot of what made Darkest Dungeon appealing to put a ton of hours in, was lost.
The new mode does look cool and I will definitely jump back into it and try it out.

I really, REALLY wanted to like Darkest Dungeon, but for me it wasn't the grind that killed it -- it was the combat. Having characters that literally cannot function if they're not in a certain position, and *constantly* having to waste turns repositioning my party because nearly every enemy attack moves those place-dependent characters around, turned even the most run-of-the-mill battles into marathons of long, drawn-out drudgery.
Everything else -- the setting, the art, the psychology mechanics, etc. -- was great, though.
