A few months and lots of games shows after our Army of Two GSD, we are finally back to talk a bit about Mass Effect, the massive Space-Opera from Bioware. A GSD a tad longer than usual, 15 minutes so HD fans better make sure their modems are up to the task, and rich in discussions about the beginning of the game that Pipo and I had the chance to try freely. We also talk about the character creation, the fight system and a few more things. Enjoy!

The reason we're stoked about MASS EFFECT is precisely because it comes from BioWare; they have an impeccable track record.
They did KOTOR, JADE EMPIRE, BALDUR'S GATE and a bunch of other premium RPGs.

The world is expecting so much from the 360 after Halo3. It looks like they removed the good part from the game, turn it into a shooter with some strategy elements. The voice acting and animations are terrible. The enviornments are terrible. This is all understandable because the engine is chugging down on the high poly characters. The characters are top notch.

I'd love to get my hands on this and see how much of this is really like Wing Commander. These guys are acting like choosing dialog is new to games. The gun play doesn't look good enough on its own to be a shooter though. The mechanics are completely rigid. I was counting on a more chess like creative game. It appears that they have to bend over for the 360 fan base. People who want shooters 247.

FRAMERATE issues on this title is inexcusable, the gamersyde guys made the comment that it should be overlooked because its not that type of game, yet they say that it can be played as a shooter. This game will fully illustrate why the 360 in the end of its run, is an incapable gaming machine when the hardware is pushed to do something difficult. The game is due next month. This is as good as it is going to get.

Are you guys just... blind? I said I'd like to play the game. If you guys think the environments of this game look as good as gears, you guys are 100% mistaken.

This game will not live up to the Halo3 hype train. Its going to be an OK game at best. They removed that key part that made the game look interesting. The part they showed that was shown earlier this year. That is what made this game look interesting. All games aren't made of gold. Especially 360 ones.

The only "awards" that matter = Game of the Year.

Take the game world by storm? Ok.

howver the gameplay and framerate issues seem tedious, if they can fix that then mass effect will have no problem becoming a great game.

however, even if the game sucks, it will still get good reviews, ms is probably gonna hype this game as much as they can just to have another halo game in their hands.

we have eyes, it looks great, the combat system looks fun and has plenty of depth, the voice acting and animations are awesome, many previews have already stated they're the best ever seen in a game, in fact the game has already recieved many awards, 360 has proven track record of AAA games, its evident in the reviews and sales, this is Bioware they a proven dev with many great western RPG's already under their belt=

Of course you no, just as we know this game will be a success, hell look at that vid again, theres plenty of indicators already that point to greatness, so why would we need any promises from you? why do we care about you conspiracy theories you read on sdf? but of course just like Halo3 many of the same sonykids that talk crap end up buying the game and playing the hell out of it, but of course still talk shiii online for their daily sdf membership points, ha ha sonykids maybe we'll believe ps3 has better stuff when you guys START BUYING PS3 GAMES=

For all those complaining about the framerate(jerkiness) of the videos being shown. Listen to the latest 1up Yours podcast as both John and Garnett are playing the game and I believe Shane asked about this because it's hard not to notice in the video. They both agree that the problems have been fixed and that the game runs smooth.

They make comparisons to both Gears of War and Oblivion, and those 2 titles aren't too shabby to be compared with. I expect this game to get some very high marks when it's released.

the visuals on this game are really top notch, combat seems interesting, I think it might be a little to easily strategic, like the wheel pauses action but your able to look round to see who u can attack first for you powers, but like one of the guys said, it'll probably help out for a bigger boss fight, but I know I can't be the only blind one is that the visuals are extremly awesome, but just lack life, like I cant feel the "emotion" of the digital acting bioware says they were pushing, but either way this game will be MASSive lol

Folding@home is not a game. but it shows what the ps3 can be used for. i seen like three or four articles on where the ps3 is being used for good use other than "gaming" like the xbox. also @ 14.1, im not being ignorant. im stating my opinions toward the game. for me i see the same concept of halo. also you xboxfanboyz really know how to hype SH*tty games.

You don't have to use the pause wheel, you can play this like an action game letting the AI's do what they wan't using a secondary comand system like the one in GRAW using the D-PAD(tell the AI's where to go in real time in action on the fly).

You don't have to pause anything you can play this Like GoW "or" Eternal Sonata if you like although its a good idea to figure out equip's ahead of time every once in a while using the wheel(I read all this info I posted). You can put select Items on a quik select menue and scroll through them and use them on the fly in real time.

People always ignore the MASS EFFECT posts due to the Sony fanboys trying to destroy this game before it has been release due to some fool giving his opinion only to come out and clear up his missunderstandings later on.

Think OF Mass Effect as part RPG and a really deep action adventure game.

i wouldn't buy a 360 (again) for this game but for fans of KOTOR it could be interesting. graphics are a bit too shiny for me.
