It confuses me that Sony was able to keep them on shelves easier when the price cut first hit, yet we are in April and they are having a harder time.

ClownBelt5126d ago

They are probably trying to redesign the PS3 again to lower the cost while giving enough supply. Remember, they're still losing money on every PS3 sold.

fox025126d ago (Edited 5126d ago )

How come the Wii outsells both consoles combined but barely have shortages?

@above
you mean, they're thinking about what to remove next from the PS3. Each new PS3 is a stripped down version of the previous one, WTH.

dktxx25126d ago

Um because they make more?

Do I need to explain why they make more?

HolyOrangeCows5126d ago (Edited 5126d ago )

It's not really hurting them that much. They've still managed to outsell the 360 WW all year long. Software is doing amazing lately, too.

commodore645126d ago

Wait.. what?

People are still talking about ps3 'shortages'?
Are we honestly expected to believe that Sony is unable to meet demand for the 4 slowest months of the year?

Come now, chilluns.
That's just silly.

Commander TK5126d ago

Sony hasn´t lost money on any PS3 since August 2008, where have u been?

Mahr5126d ago (Edited 5126d ago )

"Sony hasn´t lost money on any PS3 since August 2008, where have u been?"

Uh, yes, they have. Sony's games division posted a half a billion dollar loss in 2009 alone, and the Wall Street Journal reported that the PS3 was still being sold at a loss as recently as two months ago.

2Spock5126d ago

PS3 shortage? Must be just isolated in certain area's. Cause there is plenty where i live at.

ThanatosDMC5125d ago

This just means the demands is higher than what they thought it would be... there are more and more 360 converts after all going to the PS3 and staying there.

This $h!t really gets on my nerves.

Nick2120045126d ago

Race meaning the competition between Sony and Microsoft. They are competitors and Sony having low stock is hurting them. Check out the show and you will see what I am talking about.

LordMarius5126d ago

lol, why the question marks? how hard is it to understand

-Alpha5126d ago

The shortages definitely suck, but I expect to see a surge once GT5 releases. I'm not underestimating that game for one second.

I am somewhat confident that Sony can turn the tide considering Japan, but they need to work on NA and GT5 may be the key.

They are doing great and I'm cautiously optimistic about them overtaking MS, but with a rumored price cut MS is definitely going to fight for their second place.

In the end nobody will come close to Nintendo. It's a race between MS and Sony, and people have tuned out Nintendo while pretending that MS and Sony are all that exist. It's pretty funny but people are in complete denial with how much Nintendo has won this generation.

Mahr5126d ago

"The shortages definitely suck, but I expect to see a surge once GT5 releases. I'm not underestimating that game for one second."

I beg your pardon, but a surge in what? In people who want-to-but-can't buy PS3s?

-Alpha5126d ago

Surely Sony will have consoles on demand by then... right?

Mahr5126d ago

"Surely Sony will have consoles on demand by then... right?"

Unless they raise the price, there's not much they can do in the near-future to produce substantially more consoles each month than they currently are.

HDgamer5126d ago

Nick you are blind there is a third console in the race called Nintendo wii which is in first place.

Mahr5126d ago

"Nick you are blind there is a third console in the race called Nintendo wii which is in first place"

Nintendo systems don't count.

The real killer5126d ago

You call that a great show? A kid that talk about that shortage hurt Sony in the race, this is a stupid show i ever see.

Sony sell already more PS3 World Wide than 360, so this kid need shut his mouth before he talking about hurting sales, because that is what he talking about.

BrothaDave5126d ago

low stock never hurt the wii

asdr3wsfas5126d ago

From this description I totally understand why this is in the wii section - the host is a complete narcissist. I don't care if wii stuff is covered. Put it in the description or have the decency to quit cluttering the wii section.

2Spock5126d ago

Yeah dont clutter the wii section. They need room for cooking mama or something.

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

FinalFantasyFanatic1d 9h ago

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.

Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell Of Ar Ciel Retro Review – Love Conquers All

Gary Green said: You’ll be forgiven if you haven’t heard of the Ar Tonelico trilogy. The previous two games arrived so late in the PS2’s life-cycle that they simply went unnoticed. While most were tinkering with their shiny new PS3s, Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica were being ‘returned to sender’ by your local Game stores. Luckily, you won’t need to have played them to understand and appreciate this third and final chapter, Qoga (pronounced k-yoga) tells the story of a racial war between humans and Reyvateils, a breed of biologically produced female cyborgs capable of reproduction, while still having a digital mind.

Oh my god. I kinda wish this would get a remaster on PS5, it would be awesome. One of my favorite games on PS3.

That and 3D Dot Game Heroes. It's a shame that some stuff is stuck on PS3.

Knightofelemia3d ago

Ar Tonelico 3 is good I still prefer the first AT game. The music is solid in all the games and Akiko Shikata is a very talented singer bringing life to the game. Only annoying part is well I find is Saki I always choose Finnel or Tyria. KOEI so needs to HD remaster the franchise along with Ar Nosurge and Ciel Nosurge since it never came to North America. I would day one the Ar Toneliceo games and Ar Nosurge if they were remastered.

TheColbertinator3d ago

I still have the limited edition of Qoga unopened. Unfortunately it never went up in value like I had hoped all these years.

Used to own all these quirky JRPG on ps3 good times. Wish I would have kept them all

Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX

This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.
