XBOX Live Dashboard Update Quick Run Through Videos

Early next month, Gold Subscribers of XBOX Live can use their XBOX 360 to access Twitter, Facebook, Zune, and Last.fm as well! Take a peek at the videos and check out the new features of the upcoming Dashboard Update.

Previously rejected but i got in this time.Not really got time to try everything out so far but tried Zune HD and Last FM and they are really great.

I use facebook a lot so it was a welcome addition though it will be better when in the future they allow us to take ingame pics and upload it to facebook.

@Tony P: As of now the answer is NO.But Major Nelson stated in a podcast that the service will be evolving and the aim is to allow you to use Last FM as your ingame music and to allow people to take screenshots while gaming and upload them instantaneously unto facebook or twitter.

Maybe those features will be ready in time for the next system update.

last.fm is hands down the best thing in this update. It's simply amazing and I'm loving it so far. Make it accessible over games Microsoft!

Can this be done like a custom soundtrack? Will it stream while playing online (thus creating personal lag) or will it stream while gaming local only?

I have lots of songs on my 360 but I have heard them all. I create my own soundtracks for shooters, racing and fighting. Heck I even listen to a little metalica when playing an rpg. It would be nice to have a little variety from another source while playing now and then (and no...not the radio).

Why is it only gold members? Aren't these services like free? I mean facebook is free so is twitter. I could go on a browser and do the same. Are microsoft just trying to make people who mainly play singleplayer offline games to go online?

I know Last.FM is subscription based.

Which has me wondering is this a free version? or do you need a paid Last.FM profile already.

I actually wouldn't mind paying for lastFM only 3 euro a month. been meaning to join

I don't really think it's that needed to make Facebook and twitter for gold only I mean, it's free in Uncharted 2... which I still need to pick up.

If you would charge less for stuff you usually end up making more money. I am considering getting Fat Princess just because the new DLC will be free.

These features don't really excite me. Maybe more so if I could've accessed them in game, but like Mr. Nelson said; these are evolving. Who knows what the future might hold.

Let me have a look at my sub...hmm yup same price doesn't seem to be increasing. In the US and a few other territories Last.FM is completely free.

I was hoping with the Zune addition that I'd be able to use my sub there to download my music library to the xbox or at least stream the music I have on there without have to use my PC. However, the video marketplace is insanely fast and the quality is fantastic. Still i have a PS3 so I dunno how often I'll rent and or buy from the service for hi-def videos considering at almost the same price I can get the movie and extra features as well in a higher quality.

Overall it's not the greatest update, but its not adding and price to the sub so I could care less. Like the PS3 neither offer a replacement for my PC or Netbook. Hopefully a few unique features to the twitter and facebook addition will allow for a future incentive.

Its all there to add value to the gold sub at no extra price. However if they dare increase the price i'm letting my sub run dry and jumping over to the PS3.

Is Last.FM just available In the US? I got into the Preview. But all i seem to find is Twitter, Facebook, and Zune HD market place. Can't find anyplace to download the Last.fm feature.

AHH F**K, I spent so long looking for Last.FM then i went to the Xbox website and see it's U.S and U.K only. Not in canada. that was the one feature I was looking fwrd to in this up date. WTF is it not in canada? I have no issue listening to last.FM on my PC.

I don't see why you would want to use cut down versions of these services on a 360 when you have a perfectly good PC for that sort of thing.
