Games That Nobody Plays Anymore: Crackdown

Crackdown was a fun little title developed by Realtime Worlds and one of the co-creators of GTA. It was a fun little romp which was released a billion years ago (2 years ago) and really didn't leave a mark upon free-roaming games. It was a sort of fun little running around thingy coupled with awesome multiplayer and co-op. It was a nice little package and just to ruin it, they included the Halo 3 multiplayer beta. It was a weird thing, and many players didn't feel that it was right to have to buy a full retail game to play the beta.

can't wait for crackdown 2

"skills for kills agent,SKILLS FOR KILLS"

TheDeadMetalhead5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

because I don't own a 360 (and all my friends play is DS). If I ever do get one, though, I might try this game.

GiantEnemyCrab5418d ago

Agreed! This game is one of the best sand-box games this generation.

Incredibly fun!

ChampIDC5418d ago

It'll always be fun to screw around in co-op with a friend on this game.

Poopface the 2nd5418d ago

get points for doing those things. Like killing with explosives gets you explosive skills, and using karate kicks get you physical skills.

I also liked the agency cars that trans form with each level you get in the driving skills. The littl sports car looked awesome when it transforms.

Tony P5418d ago

"Trouble is with Crackdown, it is kinda easy. The story can be mainly done in 7 hours, depending on your skills, and after the ending, you can only jump around like a madman without a purpose."

Not really true anymore. With new updates, you can resurrect gangs now. Great update because yes, having nothing to do but time trials put me off the game for a long time.

Pistolero5418d ago

This was one of the stupidest articles I have ever seen posted on N4G. Pure fanboy trash.

I still play this game to this day. The author of this article is a moron.

Marceles5418d ago

huge disagree with this article, it's articles like this which makes Crackdown the most underrated game on the 360..hell...practically the most underrated overall this gen.

likedamaster5418d ago

Agreed. Going back through it again. There were more than just updates, they also had dlc. Seriously, Crackdown had enough replay without DLC. It was the co-op that put this game over-the-top...very well done.

JoySticksFTW5418d ago

they have some good deals going right now

ape0075418d ago

it's the game that made achievements famous and rewarding

cherrypie5418d ago

This article is written like a 12-year-old's first fanboy FUD attemp.

Crackdown is one of the cult-hits and fan-favorites of the generation, it is hailed as a under-rated classic.

Dont believe me? Try and buy a used copy at EBGames (etc). Crackdown is normally in very short supply, and always at a price premium.

Why? Because gamers know it's a fcuking AAA title. And this article's writer is worried about this:

Is the 360 the only console that has games no one plays anymore? why does this site only show 360 games?

TheDeadMetalhead5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

because Lost Planet, Far Cry 2, CoD3, Assassin's Creed and Army of Two were never on PS3 or PC...wait a minute.

EDIT: Disagree with your dupe accounts. Bravo.

ZombieNinjaPanda5418d ago

I play Cod3..occasionally...

I love the Kar98.

Actually playing the game again is really fun.

I did not murder him5418d ago

Did you disagree with me with your other accounts?

Where are the DS-PSP-Wii-PS3 only games?

Poopface the 2nd5418d ago

in order to have games noone plays anymore, you have to have games that people actually played at one time. duhhh. JK, dont hate me like you hated the old me.

Jaces5418d ago

Only you would get butthurt about something like this.

If you want to whine, then please just vent in the open zone.

I did not murder him5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

Only you would still be buthurt about something that happend weeks ago. Always tracking people that have offended you from weeks and months in the past trying to call people out.

If you wan't to vent on people becuase of some personal vengeance(not even mentioning the topic) do so in the open zone preferably not in 360 articles as your are known to be a pro Sony fan.

Pistolero5418d ago

Jaces don't try to defend this article...it is pure fanboy BS. It sounds like it was written by a 13 year old PS3 fanboy.

Jaces5418d ago

I don't tend to follow trolls, but if I have to I'll call you out.

If you didn't like what they were saying then why even bother to comment? I wasn't defending anything, unless that's what you read....w/e.

really duh5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

How do you like Crackdown? anyways I hope they add multi player in CD2 so its played longer. I hope you get a 360 some day so that you can enjoy these games and have a reason to post in 360 articles other than to call people out.

TheDeadMetalhead5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

"Did you disagree with me with your other accounts?"

Sorry to disappoint you poG, but I don't have any other accounts.

You make it sound like they only do 360 games, when actually this is the first 360 exclusive that they've done. All of the games before this were multiplat. =/

likedamaster5418d ago

"I hope you get a 360 some day so that you can enjoy these games and have a reason to post in 360 articles other than to call people out."

Ouch! Very true though. And multiplayer for Crackdown 2 would be quite a treat. I'm hoping they do so.

Jaces5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

Mind you I had a 360 (RRoD) and have played and enjoyed Crackdown thoroughly and am looking forward to number 2. Oh ouch, burn.

Plan on buying a second come Christmas, unless I truly need a 360(right now) to even comment in this section. Thus my posting in the 360 threads.

You along with many others are fanboys, loyalists to one system and it's getting increasingly annoying. Whether your a Sony fanboy or MS, It doesn't matter your all the same.

I hope you get a PS3 some day so that you can enjoy these games.

This game...

was made by the gods.

Agent gods...

"It was a weird thing, and many players didn't feel that it was right to have to buy a full retail game to play the beta."

Aren't there other games laid out like this? you buy the full retail game to get into a beta. Wasn't infamous just such a game that offered up the beta to Uncharted 2. I didnt hear many complain about that game.

It is a trend that will just continue to grow. Next up will be FF13 to get a beta for FF14. If it isnt exclusive DLC it will be exclusive access to beta games.

Tony P5418d ago

Agreed. That is exactly right, darth.

If anything, it's becoming more common. And I don't mind so long as the games turn out to be enjoyable like inFamous and Crackdown both were.

Greywulf5418d ago (Edited 5418d ago )

Infamous was very much hyped/publicized without mention of the uncharted beta, due to this being Sucker Punches brand new spanking IP. You could also get into the criminally short Uncharted beta without Infamous, it wasn't the sole way. Many people bought crackdown just for Halo, you guys know this. Come on now. Crackdown wouldn't be where its at today without the Halo Beta. Especially with the "hardcore shooter" fanbase.

Its not like the majority of people excited about infamous were saying "im going to by this relatively unknown game Infamous, by sucker punch.. to get the uncharted 2 beta"...

Tony P5418d ago

Yes, but that could very well be because Halo is the more popular franchise of the two.

IaMs125417d ago

That is true people bought it for just Halo but soon realized what a great game they got along with it. A Double Whammy, win win situation

Nevermind.. hate on..

The game is excellent and the Co-Op is some of the best I've had in a sand box game.

They’ve been working the past few years and have become proficient in that department so I definitely think they are capable of such a feat. Their BC through emulation that can natively upscale blows my mind and gives them an advantage over competitors using multiple hardware settings which requires higher clock speeds and produces more heat.

I caught Chaos Theory on sale and was actually blown away by how it scaled on the One X.

autobotdan1525d ago

Ninja Gaiden 2 in 8k please

ziggurcat1525d ago

I imagine that they'll carry over the functionality of the X regarding playing previous gen games to the series X.

PS4XBOXONEPC1525d ago

They better have good support for backwards compatibly.... Since they have no 1st pay games LMAO 😂

Why are you laughing at your own joke? It wasn't funny.

ElementsUnknown1524d ago (Edited 1524d ago )

“compatibly”, “1st pat games”: Are those supposed to be “compatibility” and “first party games”? Doesn’t really come across as an adult. No disrespect, legit question: is English not your first language?

And xbox one games, there are many underperformed 3rd party games that needs frames boost.
