360 seems to do pretty well in England, the largest gaming country in the so-called largest territory.

I'd like to see a link to some reliable numbers that back up your opinion that Europe is the largest gaming territory.

EDIT: Not to mention, these charts don't show actual numbers, so there is no way to compare them to other countries. Without numbers, sales charts are meaningless.

Since the PS3 launched people have taken to the forums saying the PS2 has been hurting the PS3 and that Sony should put an end to it.
Madness! No one walks into a store looking for a PS3 and walking out with a PS2. It's no different between Sony selling hi-end and low-end televisions. There's a market for both of them. Sony would be crazy to stop selling and supporting the PS2 while PS2 games are still routinely cracking top ten sales lists and there are still new markets to push into.

Its stupid to think that people that are buying the PS2 would buy a PS3 if the PS2 wasn't around. Especially now that BC is no longer around.

People are buying the PS2 because it has the biggest game selection in the history of gaming console as well as bing dirt cheap. Two things the PS3 dosen't have right now.

Its very smart for Sony to keep the PS2 around to get the customers which otherwise would pick the x360 or wii because of price and game slection and keep them in the PS brand. At the same time it proves Sony's committment to their ten year policy which greatly pleases Publishers and future investors alike. Then offcourse the PS2 is printing money right now to offset the cost of the PS3. Its brilliant.

KZ@ is definately doing well in Europe. It seems the ps3 is really gaining ground when it comes to multiplatform sales also. This somehow tells me that M$ is up to their usual numbers flip flopping again. Anyway, back to KZ2.

Oh there's no doubt that Killzone 2 is doing well in Europe,the majority of Killzone 2 players I play against Online are either speaking Spanish,German,or talk with a really heavy British accent.

The funny thing is these players are on the US server lol

why not?. Why should it be only UK, NA and Japan?.

I don't see any reason why UK which is just one country in EU gets their charts posted every now and then but not other big countries in Europe like France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Why shouldn't these countries charts especially if they are from reliable source shouldn't be posted?.

Europe is the biggest console market. There is no source for overall sales like NDP for NA. This is the best for the time being as i definately don't trust VG Crap.

They serve no purpose. We dont need every chart that is out there. Never have in the past, why now.

To people that have already purchased a console.......... to any normal person that has already purchased a console, good/bad sales aren't gonna make his/her console better or worse. To a person that hasn't purchased one as of yet, sales shouldn't be the determining factor. Just the games you want.

being naive. These game charts like most things in life are not bad nor good. Depends on how people use them. As a KZ2 fan its good to see KZ2 do well sales wise as i want good games to sell well. What is wrong with this?.

Perhaps its ok for you if a great game you like bomb commercially and the dev don't devlop a sequel because of it. If thats fine with you then thats ok.

You ask why do we need these charts now?. The answer is simple. We need a more reliable alternative to VG charts which at the moment people are still using for European numbers.

You know. Not everything is about the console war you know.

I remember 360 fans went ape when NPD said they weren't going to release their North American games data to the public. For years it used to be interesting info for those of us watching the growth of the games industry closely. Now, every single damn month it's just been a Microsoft flag waving excuse even though every single month the 360 is trounced by the Wii. I still find the information interesting when put into a longer term context, I could just do without the 360 fans howling at the moon once a month like the NPD data is the only data that matters because in their twisted world North American sales data seems to cement the 360's win over the PS3 in their minds. Truth is this console "war" is far from over.

What i am saying is. Sales charts are not evil lol!.They serve alot of purposes other than just for trolls to use as flame-bit. As i said before. It depends on how you use them.
