Microsoft has refused to comment on reports that its planning to discontinue the Elite SKU of the Xbox 360, instead moving it into a more limited edition role ala the blood red Resident Evil 5 console.
In reply to a web report that claims that manufacturing of the Elite console will cease in the second quarter of this year, a Microsoft spokesperson told CVG: "Microsoft does not comment on rumours or speculation." Not a denial nor confirmation, then.
This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.
Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.
It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny
Armored Core VI?
Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.
Is something big coming soon to branch the story?
No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
xbox 360 slim i can't wait for E3.
How are they going to win the digital distribution battle if they keep shrinking their hard drive?
Not Long to go tho!!! Ooooops!!! ;-D
Things look grim for the 360 now with :
- no exclusive AAA in 2 years except Gears 1.5 vs tons on PS3
- no major game to come
- multiple studios closing at MS (Ensemble, Flight Sim studios...)
- massive layoffs in Xbox games division
- Bungie and Rare people angry about MS
- new low for MS share
- massive RROD issues and trials
- dead in Japan (RE5 score 4:1 for the PS3 there)
- outsold worldwide last week despite costing half as much as the PS3 (see vgchartz)
I think they'll give up on gaming, they can't afford those failures anymore, especially considering they already failed on yahoo and Zune, and now are losing market shares every day on Office (vs Open Office), on Windows (vs Linux / Mac) and on browsers (with Firefox and Chrome).
Microsoft looks more and more like General Motors right now...
If they don't plan on giving up on the 360 then :
- why are they closing their only studios one after the other ?
- why are they cutting jobs in gaming division ?
- why don't they have any major game planned ?
- why did they cut their console price so much ?
- why do they stop with the Elite model ?
- why don't they buy any timed / full exclusive anymore ?
All these things can mean only ONE thing: they'll let the 360 die and give up on gaming... These strategic decisions would make no sense otherwise.
They should have just say they are not. Not giving a comment will start unneeded flame wars from Fanboys from both sides.
For example-
PSfanboy- M$ is leaving the console busines lolz
360fanboy- They are cutting it to release a bigger hard drive and giving the pro the 120GB hard drive. Expect 300gig to suspass the PS3 160GB. DD FTW
