i have this game on 360 and pc i play the pc version with my PS3 controller:)

chasuk085607d ago

I cant believe you got disagrees for that, its crazy.

Nathan Drake5608d ago

PC version easily looks better

Eiffel5608d ago

Yeah, just add the broken texture loading for most people who own the PC version and you will see which is better.

You would think coming from the consoles this game would perform better.

power of Green 5608d ago

PC version is way more clearer with more natual looking light, colors.

PC is superior. Keep in mind the 360 version was held back by the PS3 although the PC is superior to consoles.

MUGEN5608d ago (Edited 5608d ago )

I think I saw a few typos in your comment. It should of said "the 360 held back the PS3 this generation", but other than that the PC's always win but not everyone has $4-6,000 to build one.

power of Green 5608d ago

NAH as you can look up, the trend seems to back what I'm saying lol.

Nicaragua175608d ago

LOL it's actually the other way around.Anyways,as always, the PC version wins.

Danja5608d ago

Nah actually the limitations of the 360 held back the PS3 version , everyone knows there's only so much stuff you can cram on a DVD9..XD

El_Colombiano5608d ago

PC rapes any console for breakfast in multiplatforms. Although the PS3 is really putting up a fight with it's exclusives, just look at Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain. Power of Green, you and I both know along with everybody else on this site that its the 360 that is holding back the PS3. Show me something that runs on the 360 that looks better than Killzone 2 or Heavy Rain. You can't ;).

plain rice5608d ago

Uhhhhhhh.................. 360 exclusives don't look as good as PS3 exclusives. If you look at Infamous, that game is putting GTA4 to shame in terms of graphics, and the amount of things going on screen. Seriously not only did DVD9 hold GTA4 back, the hardware in the 360 as well.

phosphor1125608d ago

that was some computer/fps lag for the PC version, especially for those high specs. PS3/360 versions seem to run a lot better..well because they are optimized for the hardware.

ind15607d ago

@3.1

Er, 4-6000 dollars to build a gaming PC? Please.

PS3's are still $700 in my country. With that I could build a PC which could run games much better then both consoles.

Get your head out of the sand. The only place you pay $4-6000 is when you are dumb enough to buy the PC from the store rather than getting custom parts and building it on you're own.

God I hate ignorant people.

MUGEN5606d ago (Edited 5606d ago )

For $700 you couldn't make a PC that could do High settings at 1200P@60HZ+. Your "basic low-end" gaming PC looks pretty weak compaired to the ones you can buy at the store.

God I hate cheap people.

ind15605d ago

I was using the price of the PS3 as an example.

I did not say I owned the computer, I just said that you can build which can perform better then a PS3 for the same price.

I mean, you don't mention anything being a "high-end" pc in your comment. You just act like every other idiot thinking gaming PC's are $4000-6000 when infact they are not.

On top of all this.. Months and months ago my friend built a PC which played Crysis. Not on max settings, but he only paid $850. That same PC can be made for MUCH cheaper today considering everything is lower in price. Not only that, but if someone is going to actually put $4000-6000 into a PC, its because they can, not because they have to. You need to see the difference here, kid.

MUGEN5604d ago (Edited 5604d ago )

Gaming PC's are always a high-end PC. They use the latest and greatest everything to run the latest/future games. A $850 PC is outdated before boot up. Ill stick with high settings, high resolutions and high-end PC's.

You have one reply left, kid.

ind15604d ago

Damn, its pathetic yet embarrassing reading your comments.

A gaming PC is not "always" high-end. The difference between a frame-whore compared to a PC gamer is huge.

Frame-whores build PC's just to see their frame rates within games to brag on forums and websites. You clearly do not know the difference.

We have gaming laptops for people who go overseas to game, and do they sell for $4000-6000? Hell no.

I'd also assume you think you'd need a $4000-10000 (Hell I wouldn't be surprised at $10000) just to run GTA IV.

Wow, the stupidity within your little body. And you actually have the guts to try and prove me wrong, and I just spit it back in your pathetic face.

Simple really.

MUGEN5602d ago

LOL "gaming laptop", you mean a outdated slow PC that eat battaries?
GTA 4 needs a high-end PC with one of the best CPU's on the market no matter how they patch the game.

Wow, the stupidity within your little body. And you actually have the guts to try and prove me wrong, and I just spit it back in your pathetic face.

Simple really.

PS. have fun with your low settings and slow PC's.

GiantEnemyLobster5608d ago

I love how they compared the superior version (PC) to the 2nd most superior (360).

PS3 version is sitting way behind in the dust LOL

2 cents5608d ago

Prove me that the x360 version of GTA4 looks on par or better compared to the ps3 counterpart.

Surfman5608d ago

ps3 looks better than 360, IGN and other big websites confirmed that.

InMyOpinion5608d ago (Edited 5608d ago )

You have a really really short memory span, don't you?

"First things first. Xbox 360 runs at full 720p (1280x720), whereas the PlayStation 3 code takes a 20 per cent hit, being natively rendered at 1152x640 before being software-upscaled."

That must be because the PS3 is so powerful...It can't even run the game at the same resolution as the 360.

http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

Btw, does the PS3 version have trophies? Online voice-chat? Rumble? lol!

Magic_The_Celt5608d ago

360 hardware is very similar to the PC so if you where going to compare console to PC its very obvious you would use the most like PC but console

*sigh*

Pc one looks better but I did notice that it stutters alot, more than the 360 version in this video. Partically in the driving scenes.

TheIneffableBob5608d ago

I'm guessing that's because they put the graphics settings as high as they could go. Rockstar apparently designed the game to be scalable to future hardware, which is pretty stupid. If they dropped the settings down a little bit, I'm sure the stuttering would have gone away. That or maybe they weren't using the latest Catalyst 8.12 drivers which are supposed to improve GTA IV performance.

uie4rhig5608d ago

they're using an ATi graphics card lol.. i was a bit confused too at first.. but they are using ATi Graphics card ;)

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies2d ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken2d ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing692d ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker2d ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing692d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt2d ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken2d ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.

Grand Theft Auto 4 Anniversary: The Beginning of the Age of RAGE

Grand Theft Auto 4 is an important game for Rockstar, not least because it was the first title in the franchise to use the newly created RAGE engine.
