Gears Of War 2: "Your Going To Be Blown Away" (TV Spot)

GameXtract writes "Apparently everyone is on edge for Gears of War 2 so I should probably join in on the frenzy, and get hyped up too! A few weeks ago I had the chance of trying out Horde with Jeff at the Toronto Gaming Invasion, but a simple ten minute time frame was not enough to judge the game. Without a fact, Gears of War 2 looks to be one bloodbath, and IGN, and Gamepro know it! In the following TV spot below, IGN is quoted saying "You Going To Be Blown Away", with Gamepro giving an even bigger statement by saying "The Best Xbox 360 Game Ever Made". Looks like I'll be picking this up on release day to see if it truly lives up to these quotes. The TV spot below is a Gears of War 2 linked with Gamestop to promote pre-ordering the game. If you like hearing morality speeches from commanders, and hundreds of troops fighting locust baddies, then this might get you on edge."

Why the Hell should we be worried? It's not like the PS3 hasn't had games that got 9/10's and 10/10's this year (Metal Gear Solid 4, LBP).

The 360 hasn't had a game all year that has been rated as high as MGS4 or LBP, and IGN's review of Resistance 2 (9.5) tells me that R2 is in for more 9/10's. Keep on spinning little ol' PP, keep on spinning.

we'll see about that! it's hard to get blown away anymore by any games as of right now after all the great games being released and showed here and there! form what I've seen, Gears2 is more or less the same as the last one. say what ever you want but I've played the 1st on my PC and I've watch people playing the 2nd (you know what version!)! blown away? nah...I doubt it! it's a good game but when you play it, you'll somehow think "I've seen this before" - at least, that's what I feel!

I watched people played it. I don't have a 360 myself but I didn't say that it's not a good game. I just said that I was not blown away and that's a crime now? and I need to have my eye check now? I commented because I played the 1st one and curious for the 2nd one! I saw it and personally I think that it's not blowing anything away - at least not me!

...I don't think they emphasized the conflict enough in that one, though. And it's interesting you see dozens of people in the trailer... I wonder if the feeling of having a lot of people around you will be felt when you play the game.

Gears2 has about 20 to 30 enemies in the foreground waiting for you to mortal shell them. you could stand behind a stone block for two hours and not get killed on these boards; because it is scripted. gears2 does not have back up;only levels complete. not epic.

R2 has 80 to 100 arm length away and closer ready to destroy you. they have about 20 more monster as back up behind them.. the enemies in R2 will track you down from land/sky from front side/backside;because it is not scripted. is epic!!

Gears2 has some big enemies this time around. They all are scripted to stand in one spot and use your mortal on from 500 yards away. "Brumak" it takes about two shoots level complete. The monster in the water could not bite through a wooden life raft... but shot him in the eye and run into his stomach. scripted and very stupidly scripted. who wrote or approve this dumb astray approach of killing a monster. Did cliffy,Mike Caps or "potato chip man" approve this tfurd. The monster in the cave looks good. i would rather pull out my new weapons and waste his astray. you are forced scripted to fly up/down and shoot him down with a machine gun. Gears1 had real tactical battle seqs that made sense. Gears2 is stretching realism to fantasy horseshaat.

R2 boss battle makes sense. you are taking down enemies with weapons and not horse shot. R2 makes you use the weapons in the game to destroy your enemies and not horse shot

Final statement

Gears2 could of been DLC only. everything we are buying for $60 could of been sold for $20. There is nothing new here but fanansy horseshaat. i will buy it to play with my die hard friends. their heads or so far north in Gears "exit wound" it is not even funny anymore. gears will be good but not epic or worthy my $60 dollars like R2 is. When you look at sheer value gears2 loses big time and R2 wins.

I am in the R2 beta and it is smooth as silk. Most people who put time in the beta will tell you how silky/smooth it is. the sheer amount of enemies on the screen at one time is incredible. there were no moment of "shoot the tank" and level completed aka gears2. you have to pound the enemies dead with all your weapon fire. if i hurt anybody feeling then look at your wallet after you spent your $60 on this game that does not bring the value back to you as R2.

what turns me off is the gameplay. What bothers me the most is the humiliation kills.
I was hoping epic learned from gears 1 that its not cool to wait for your enemy to be done chainsawing or
curbstomping before you can kill them. You have no choice but to watch your teamates be murdered.

Its unrealistic. Now epic added more brief invincable & anti-counter active humiliation kills.
Pretty cheesy & the excitement doesnt seem real. It should have been $20 dollar dlc.

Gears2 is a rental. I beat it in less than 5 hours on easy. There is no
story. Its exactly how you pictured it. You guys could figure it out in 10
seconds.

But if you really enjoy the expansion after a years wait then you truly are a

Fable2 kicks ass to me doesn't mean its not broken but it get 10's and has some game breaking glitches but none the less gets 10's
Socom has server problems and it get 6'2 and 7's but the reviews state ohh it woul be 8 or 9 if the servers were good. So socom got fdowngraded fr problems but fable 2 got its issue bypassed in its reviews.

So again whats wrong with socom and who cares if he says its a rental if you like it play it I know I will. You may say why you saying this about socom because you made it sound like it had to have special privileges by stating you accepted Socm gameplay. yeah and I accepted Gears of War 1 gameplay and loved it. You never played it i bet or your goning to gave me some fake reply how you did but the servers wouldn't let you play im guessing.

It's not an average game. It is a great game with server issues. Actually, I take that back. The server issues really have been taken care of, and if I'm not mistaken, they are releasing another patch today. I play for a good three hours yesterday with no problems whatsoever. There are some hang times when you first get into a game, but I had no disconnects or lag while in game. The game play is tactical. Some people can't get their head around that. It is realistic and not meant to be a run and gun smash 'em up type game (ala Call of Duty, Gears, Resistance, and what have you).
