god i hope it isnt as glitchy as the first one was. some glitches were fun like the chainsaw jump, but the ones people dod to cheat really pissed me off.

If they had slaped a map editor on the game and made it so you could only play on dedicated servers this would be some next gen stuff. But this is not all that imo. It's great that the singelplayer is the thing that shines in gears of war 2 because it's too bad that Epic doesn't know how to make a great multiplayer experience...

yea its pretty glitchy, doesnt look too competitive or fun either because of the way things control. the first one definitely didnt work out and it doesnt look like they changed much here either. i guess gears just isnt meant for multiplayer.

but 5v5 for a second iteration and on a 3yr old system is really utterly ridiculous.

For those that'll obviously call me some sort of fanboy and state it's supposed to be an "intimate" type of gameplay, I say, for a VG that glorifies the goriest of games, I would think people would rather have 10v10 or 20v20 blood fests than frikgen hug & make-out.

5v5, for a shooter (and a gory one at that) is indeed pathetic.

This game doesnt impress me as much as it did several months ago, I think its because ive been watching Killzone 2 videos a lot lately and while the Gears 2 Gameplay looks to be great the graphics look very outdated compared to killzone 2. Dont get me wrong im still buying Gears 2 day 1, but it just doesnt impress me as much Gears 1 did

I see it a little differently. I am impressed with this game and perhaps because it's a proven franchise. A few great tweaks from gears 1 and you have yourself another winner.

Now, Killzone 2, All though it's a first day buy for me because it does look great. I am still worried about it because if the past inerations of Killzone. It's still not proven, who care about great graphics if the A.I. is stupid, and the game play suchs so the jury is still out on that one.

Same goes for LBP.

I'll rather deal with the psyco I know vs the psyco that I don't know.

Gears of Gray looks just like the last one and thats because the 360 was maxed out when Gears of Gray 1 came out!

It may not look great to you but its a lot of fun, you have to choose your tactics as you cant do everything but that just makes it more thrilling. Gears 1 was a great game and although this doesnt look to have changed much thats not a bad thing. Same with Resident Evil 4 you can't even move and shoot at the same time its a fantastic game! I do agree though just having the option for more than 5v5 would be great.

Honestly,

Have you ever shot a gun. Besides a shotgun, what gun can you effectively shoot while sprinting. Sure if you just like pulling triggers (which is pretty obvious) then sure I guess you should be allowed to waste ammo all you want. But the point you make really makes no point. It's all fair as long as no one else can do something that you can't.

So stop making up reasons to hate on the game. The reason you don't like it is simple. It's because you are a rabit PS3 fanboy and you've been brainwashed to hate it. Period.

Im not a big gun guy but i have shot a few handguns and a rifle. You could shoot anything on the run if you had some training. You might not hit anything but it can be done im sure.

I think some need to understand, this game is no fragfest. I've played fragfest on the PC for years and I welcome the close quartered, tactful, team battles in Gears. Hey for a change of pace you could pop in a COD4/Halo3/RS2/UT3.

Again how many characters involved, is NOT what makes Shooters successful. Some, as always, will use that as "ammo" or some type of "technical feat" as to why another game may be better.

In the End, it's about Fun. If the game executes properly and is technically sound, I can def buy it. Hey I don't think Halo is the best shooter but I continue to play it.

Is that you could have intimate matches but you could also give the "option" for larger matches i dont see why that isnt done it would make it a better game overall since people that like big matches can have them and i dont see any physical limitation that is preventing it from doing it. This would add to the "FUN" not be detrimental to it and would allow players to make matches according to what is "FUN" in their books.

There are a lot of games which main/oficial/tournament games are much lower than the actual limit Mgo is an example survival is 6v6 and world tournament if 5v5 but that doesnt take away the fact that you can play 8v8 if so wanted. So i dont understand why they didnt ramp up the player count.

although I do get your point, there could always be an option to allow big matches, but in terms of what the developer created, I think once you go outside that scope. The vision you have about your game is no longer there.

If GEOw is suppose to be what I just posted, about the close quartered and tacfulnes team combat, maybe EPIC feels, once they introduce 16 man battles then they have lost what the scope of the game is, and what they intended it to be.

I think many games fall in that Category, they try to do way more then what was originally planed and sometimes the focus is lost depending on the game and development. I'm not saying that is why EPIC did not allow much bigger battles but just trying to make a point about devs and their original vision.

Gears of War's online is meant to convey a more intimate approach. While it lowers the scale of the battles, it also makes things more tactical and it gives the players more "worth". Whereas with a large number of players it doesn't matter who you're killed by and sometimes you don't even know how or why you died.

Have you ever played a 32 player match which is tatical and not including clan matches, no you haven't. Its 5 vs 5 for a reason, the same way Resistance would not work with 8 people, play the game and stop trolling.

Quality over quantity I'd say.

But hey if people get happy over having 40 or 60 players in one game, be my guest. Although COD4 with 18 players in my view is enough already. I don't recognize if nr. 16 came around the corner twice or if I see nr. 16 come around the corner once and nr. 38 the second time.

The person playing this game in the video sucks a$$ still a buy for me nothing new from the first though. 5 vs 5 is too small to play I found it boring when I played 4 vs 4 in Socom CA 16 vs 16 is the most I like to play it s too bad they didn t get more in the online mode.

If any of you fools downplaying gears of war even played the same game i did.

It's one of the most intimate, visceral, intense and tactical games of all of time. Teamwork is essential. Resistance doesn't even come close and i doubt just because part 2 wants to throw alot of players in will change things.

Which one has more significance? Gears of War the 40th highest rated game of all time or Resistance which was a solid and sometimes awesome game that got a 86%?

It's like comparing a badass rpg series like the final fantasy's and chrono triggers to the b and c guy's. It don't make sense. Kind of like Killzone and Halo, sony fanboy's swore up and down it would be better but when it finnaly came out, it got no higher then a 7 while halo series are the highest rated of alltime.
