I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls
I didn't know Insomniac earned money from games. As a first party studio I figured all profits/losses were absorbed my the parent company.
I feel like they always save something for this event. Here's to seeing more from Everwild or Perfect Dark. I'd be happy with a story trailer for Avowed, too.
Minecraft also pulls in a ton off of licensing and merchandising.
Insomniac is an incredible studio, but there's no comparison between the scale and complexity of BG3 and their games. It's a totally different level.
From my understanding COD usually swaps studios every year cycling between Treyarch, Infinity Ward, and I-Forget the last one. For whatever reason Activision decided Modern Warfare needed a new sequel right away which is what resulted in this mess.
I would guess that it has something to do with Vanguard under performing, but who knows with ABK.
They couldn't even get the game running smoothly on series x. I'm astonished it's running in switch at all!
Your ambition should match your team size. Much better games have been made with teams that size.
Steam numbers aren't exactly ideal for judging playercounts for games like this. I imagine most players are on Xbox, PlayStation, and Windows Xbox store.
As an experienced director and the Creator of one of the most iconic game franchises of all time, his opinions will always be relevant.
That said I don't think I've ever agreed with anything he says. Definitely not in the last ten years.
@flake
He's obviously talking about content updates, not players.
@Chris
If you read (or even skim) the whole article, you'll see he also said the way to achieve this is by decoupling where the game is run via streaming, and that PC/console would remain the best place to play.
Isn't that exactly what Destiny is? It's f2p, GaaS, and online only. I don't really know how a game like this could work any other way. Besides charging upfront, I guess, and adding LAN multiplayer?
What's TooK?
Split screen is a weird choice to me for a game like this. I thought it would be handled the same as Diablo 4's -- with both players sharing the same screen.
Bc games will still be available on the current Xbox marketplace. This article is referring specifically to titles that could only be played on 360.
@Hypertension
If I had time for a PS5 I would have bought a PS5 by now. I intend to someday, but at the moment my backlog is too big. Not only would I have to trade in all my games (for pennies on the dollar) and rebuy them for PS5, but Xbox actually finally has some exclusives coming out in the near future that interest me. I'll get a PS5 whenever Naughty Dog's next game comes out, at the latest.
EA has stepped away from that outside of their multiplayer games.
Halo was limited by the Xbox One S though, not Series S.
For sure this is what they're thinking.
