which is off by atleast 500,000 to 800,000 in my book con sidering the fact that ps3s were sold out in some parts of europe in 2007.
I think SONY sold 9.2- 9.3m ps3s by dec,2007
so VG is off by around 500 000 units
ps3 has beaten the x360 in terms of first year sales (same time in the lifetimes of both consoles).
x360 sold 8.3 million consoles at the same time of its lifetime.
PS3 has been comforatably beating x360 for the past few months in terms of worldwide sales.
How long did x360 take to sell 10m units to CUSTOMERS?

take a series like LOST for instance. It might take up multiple Blu Ray discs.
You might need 100gig -- 200 gig of space. In order to store that on HDD you might need 1 FULL HDD.
Plus consider the time which is taken to download that. 3/4/7 days . Blu Ray will win this no doubt.
I expect some form of MODIFIED HOLGRAPHIC DD in the future which could replace physical media in 2015 for instance.

People arent you seeing that SONY has changed their reporting PRACTICES in their balance sheet. They are now reporting SALES TO CUSTOMERS
But please do also remember that beginning from JUNE 30 ,2007 SONY has actually been counting SALES to CUSTOMERS rather than SALES TO RETAILERS/FOB

A sales/reported sale is different from recorded sales where the item sold is counted only after it is sold to END USERS
an FOB/SOLD is when a merchandise is sold from MANUFACTURER TO RETAILER. In other others it is what you call SHIPMENT

I think VG massively underreported ps3's europe sales.
I think PS3 might be at 5m/very close to 5m in europe
$113 million is definitely not bad when NIKKEI expected SONY to post a loss of 236 million last quarter.

How will dozens of ps3 owners say something when only only a specialized SDK can record HDMI videos and especially when it shoots to 60fps then only a dev might capture the true video footage

IOI is a very good friend of SIREN --another XBOX supporter who used to be the MOD at PS3FORUMS . However he was kicked out when the ADMINS found out.
