The reason Bioshock 2 received so much hate is because after the first game won GOTY peoples expectations for the sequel were far too high, and the sequel ended up being more of the same with a lame story in comparison to the first game and a boring tacked on multiplayer.
Was it a bad game? No.
Was it a good game? No.

This game was god awful, I wanted to like it but after an hour I'd had with the repetition.
Then again all of Ubisoft's first games on the PS3 were highly repetitive.
You may think GTAV was overrated, I thought TLOU was hugely overrated, and yes I have played and even completed it so I'm not biased, it was a good game but the fanboys just kill it for me, they treat it likes it's gods gift to gaming, on a side note I thought the MP for both games was rubbish!
