Ah, I thought you meant the gameplay.

And I know it isn't the only one, but I was saying it looks like the main focus will be acrobatics again, others use it to a much lesser extent, and they aren't as deep. From that description I presume the emphasis on platforming and riddles will remain unchanged.

Anyway I agree about the plot and setting, it looks like something completely different to the previous TRs.

More like the first two, less like Deadly Shadows please.

Replied in PM, like I said I did the same as the post above mine. It doesn't matter who started this in this case.

I do believe it's not me who should look up the 'asinine' definition, because only one of us here can't read the posts properly.

Legend was what you've described, a linear accessible reboot.

The 'exploration' and 'puzzles' in TRA was the same, what they dropped was the outdated clumsy control system and the annoying need to measure every single step.

I wouldn't say Underworld was a hard game, or ha...

Thumbs up for showing a two-face by ignoring the comment above mine whilst reacting to the RM one.

Nice spin, buddy. The Uc fanboys are doing an awesome job of showing up in every Gears thread, since it's a cover based shooter, and in TR ones since Uc has some platforming elements.

Perhaps you should follow that advice of yours though, especially since you 're into reading others' comment history.

Anniversary is completely the same game art style and atmosphere wise, if your idea of 'hardcore' and 'better' is clumsy, 1996 tank controls and drunk camera then so be it. Thus the Batman comparison is asinine to say the least.

Ironically Underworld was the furthest from 'casual', it was a rushed, not that great game with inconsistent level design though.

'Scramble up a vertical cliff wall, sprint and leap across a huge chasm, steer mid-air to land a misdirected jump: There is no one right way to traverse, survive, and explore the harsh environment of the island.'

Looks like a completely TR game to me, since they're sticking to jumping/climbing/acrobatics stuff too, only they've rebooted the...

I've always wondered why do the fanboys of that retarded, tasteless, generic tps and that Ricky Martin-like douchebag always show up in TR/Gears threads, and not the other way around.. Speaks volumes, doesn't it?

Perhaps they feel truly threatened. Pity I suppose.

I believe it's undeniable XII has created 'the best illusion of a real world inside of the screen thus far and was as simply the most brilliant art and music direction', it was incredibly well done, beautiful, non linear game world that was both artistically superior and gameplay enhancing.

The music of X was as pseudo emotional as it's characters and storyline. Incredibly primitive too.

The battle system was a huge step back for the series, t...

The third Chrono game anyone?

.. then again, I don't know if I would want Squenix to develop it, with their recent track record.

Yes yes, uncharted was so darkish, survival horrorish, and violent, such a grand feeling of isolation and freedom too... /s

As you put it, 'stupid' is that you claim going the tps route would be the best for an acrobatic puzzle/adventure game, and claiming what's the best game this gen (it comes down to opinion).

I for one, amongst the other TR (not Uncharted) fans, would like more of the same creative puzzles, more platforming, and more relic hun...

Well, that's a no brainer.

I said that because I got used to people calling it TR9 all the time. How could I tell if you're any different? Not so obvious to many.

Whoever thinks Uncharted wasn't 'influenced' by TR is an idiot btw. ND didn't clone anything, and the games are really different, but the fact is that the original TR inspired the 3d PoP (Arabian Nights), which then lead to Sands of Time and all the other action adventure ones.

2d PoP -> Tomb Raider -> all the other 3d action adventure games. TR in the 90s was bigger than Halo today, selling >8 million on PSX alone, of course it did make an influenc...

Well, the only evidence of that I see so far is if you misinterpret the title of this topic.. Cd are basically complimenting Uc quality here. The rumors about multiplayer have been around for ages, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that TR needs a targeting system improvement..

GoL was a spin-off btw, it wasn't even a TR game.

More like Rainbow Six and Unreal.. As much as Killzone and Halo are different games, they're both shooters, TR and Uncharted are diametrically opposite, One is a tps with simplistic puzzles/platfroming to break up the pace, the other is a heavily platforming/riddles oriented game with a couple of foes appearing here and there. The way characters move is a generic 3d way of controlling them, it's been used since PoP Sands of Time. The action adventire genre has quite a few sub ones, e...

Totally deserving, anyway.

Let's be honest... people who compare these games either haven't played one of them (or both?), or 're incapable of any rational analysis whatsoever.

TR completely decimates Uc in terms of puzzles, exploration, platforming and has non linear stages. It is a platforming/puzzles centered game, with a couple of enemies on the whole stage, whilst Uc is the exact opposite, being a third person shooter with simplistic platforming/puzzles, that serve as occasional brea...

On track to sell PS2 numbers, lol? It's predecessor was at ~70 million at the end of it's fourth year.

If anything, Wii is on track to beat PS2.
