The form factor is good. The next Switch needs to focus on power or Nintendo will start getting eaten by the handheld gaming PCs that are slowly shaking up the portable market. The Steam Deck has already kicked off a portability war, which is great news as competition benefits people like us.
"It needs a dual screen"
Does it f#@k need one
"The Switch 2 could use a dual screen 8K resolution"
Are you high? Do you know how much that would cost? Just for the screens?
"and don't get me started on 120 frame rate that the Switch 2 could have every game running smooth as butter"
Yeah, you're high. Even the power of the Steam Deck can only hit 30 to 60 frames...
That niche of portability wont carry them forever. Not with the rise of portable PC's like Steam Deck. Nintendo has done great this gen though.
And console and PC games dont try to grab your cash though loot boxes or tacked on DLC then no? Take for example the Total War series, you have to pay to have blood in the game and lets not start on FIFA and the joys of EA.
Yeah those 2 extra RAMs will turn the S into an X maybe download extra teraflops for the GPU too to make it even more beast mode.
Its not the best handheld, yet, the Switch still is especially the OLED screen that destroys the one on Steam Deck.
The Steam Deck is incredible though. Once I saw it running God of War, Borderlands 3 and Elden Ring all while being portable I was sold. I just hate how the screen looks compared to the OLED though but it is truly incredible tech and I can see it only getting better with time.
The fact it plays God of war and Elden Ring on a portable is impressive enough for me.
whitbyfox: Steam deck is all about portability not tethering to a TV but it could easily connect to a TV if Valve choose to.
The map is full, yeah, but its full of filler and boredom.
Its good for a few hours but after that it gets very boring. I managed to complete half the game back when I played it before wandering what the point was in carrying on.
"maybe, but then what would I do at work?"
Well...work?
The modern ones were great, anything but boring. Except for Young Blood of course.
Two Point Hospital was great, really looking forward to this. Such addictive gamplay.
Yeah, Nintendo know how to innovate. I just love how they really go for the portability aspect. It's a great and convenient way to play, obviously with sacrifices but you cant beat the convenience.
I just hope the next Switch has specs similar to the Steam deck. That thing is able to play the latest God of War and Borderlands 3, albeit at 30fps but still, thats inpressive for a portable. Would love to see what Nintendo could do with that kind of power.
No need for that. If they don't want their script being seen then they don't. Its their work not anyone elses.
What do you mean it could look incredible? It does look incredible in the video. Of course it won't look polished it's just a studio showcasing what it would roughly look like.
And solo, solo is good too for those who aren't into co-op.
Yeah Wildlands is great even solo. I've never played it co-op but had so much fun with just me and the AI squad. Completed it 3 times so far. Loved playing on extreme mode and doing the tier difficulty.
Well they still create great experiences and they're masters of their craft. They'll revisit old IPs when they feel the time is right.
