I'm sick of all the people here bickering over the difference with Sony using NA numbers vs. U.S. figures etc. or those focused on the supplies constrained and therefore being the reason why MS can make their claim.

THAT'S NOT HOW MICROSOFT DERIVED THIS "FASTEST SELLING" STATISTIC.

I'll give you guys examples of how deceptive they measured this stat is:

What they mean by "fastest" is average sold per day on the...

Oh lordy.

It doesn't just stop at those, add in Joystiq (Ludwig Kietzmann), Polygon, and even the non-gaming but gadget-focused sites like Engadget. You should've seen their podcasts nitpicking the PS4 announcement to shreds. Laughed at the entire thing really (the console not being shown was emphasized ad nauseam): http://www.polygon.com/2013...

Sony's always been able to juggle multiple systems and offer support to them long after they release a new one.

This will be no different with the PS4's release.

It's one of the strengths of the PlayStation brand.

Um...why would they ever cut ties with Naughty Dog when Uncharted has been one of the most successful new IPs this generation, on top of the buzz The Last of Us is getting, along with the fact that they *own* the company since 2001? That's like Sony cutting off their right arm.

@ShadowGhost

You do realize that if you selected Free Super Saver Shipping on the last checkout page (it defaults to Standard Shipping, which costs money), because the order is over $25, the shipping is free?

Thus, you would've gotten it at the same price/cheaper than Gamestop, ie. the $39.94+tax price

And if you had Amazon Prime/signed up for it for say, Students, you could've gotten free 2-day shipping.

Either way, ...

I'm not questioning competition - competition is what drives sales, price matching, and lower prices. And I didn't say that the end of Gamestop would have *no* effect on other retailers.

But Gamestop has been losing ground as a competitor very much like the Dreamcast was a decade ago. And what happened after it went away? Competition moved on with different players.

I'll even use a recent brick-and-mortar example: Circuit City and CompUSA.

While I agree that the loss of jobs is something that shouldn't be commended, physical gaming is not kept alive by specialty stores - it's kept alive by sales, and trust me, online retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and even Best Buy still sell their games for the most part as physical. In fact, that's pretty much all they sell (their digital store for PSN and XBL is severely lacking).

Where can you buy used games? Plenty: eBay, Amazon, Best Buy, Goozex, Glyde, and e...

I can attest to cheapassgamer (been a member for over 6 years).

It's a terrific site, the best for gaming deals on the web actually.

And the community is certainly more friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting than this one...

And no, you don't have to register to use it, so calm down there Godmars.

I had posted this deal on Slickdeals and CAG at around 5:00 a.m.

http://slickdeals.net/perma...

Deal has been long dead since then.

You can still get it "Like New" from Amazon for $9.44 though, and Amazon's Like New condition is pretty much mint condition.

And if you want to know when the 80 page screenplay entitled "dream stealers" was made, it was made shortly after 2002 when Nolan finished Insomnia and before he made Batman Begins (2005):

Paprika was made in 2006.

Fact:

According to one interview - "Christopher Nolan cites [Paprika] as one of the principal influences and was inspired by its main character to flesh out his character played by Ellen Page, a 'spirit architect' named Ariadne."

The direct source of this is a french interview:
http://lci.tf1.fr/cinema/ne...

Or we could say it's based off of eXistenZ (1999) by David Cronenberg.

Parts of Paprika are similar yes but the same can be said of so many other films, especially when you deal with dreams.

The fact is, works share elements of other works. They may be influenced by them, they might not, they may be built from them, but they still exist in their own worlds with their own rules and plot elements.

Watching Paprika and Inception recentl...

Also a huge fan of the Bit.Trip series myself, especially Runner. I have to say though I personally found the original's art style and 2-D/3-D hybrid graphics to be more appealing than this pre-alpha footage. As long as the controls are as precise and tuned as the first, I'll be a happy camper either way. I've beat Runner twice now and have been itching for some new levels/challenges.

Absolutely incredible soundtrack. The game is sitting at home nice and tidy still in its plastic wrap, but with your review and the song posting it's now kicked up to the top of my backlog list.

Unfortunately I'll have to wait seven weeks to get out of med school and go back home to my PS3.

I appreciate the well-written review, Neckbear, and putting the game back into my attention. I originally bought it from good word-of-mouth but school and exclusi...

Just wanted to note that I personally think (for me), LittleBigPlanet does a ample job at my platformer fix, The Last Guardian will provide the adventure I'm craving for (which I would consider rivaling a Zelda experience), Folklore and Demon's Souls also provide great adventure, and as for fighting games, Smash Bros. is wholly unique on its own; I personally get enough of fighting games thru Arksys, Capcom, and Namco. And you're right, PSN does ...

I too wanted to write about this, but the article explained everything I wanted to say and more. The fact of the matter is, all of these PS3 exclusives, with more recently Gran Turismo 5, LittleBigPlanet 2, and Killzone 3 are being examined under a microscope and dinged points left and right where other games (including multi-plats) would get a free pass on.

That's the bias a lot of PS3 owners are trying to get across, not this inherent "I hate the PS3 so much blah ...
