What was the point of this Gamer Zone?
Here I was thinking people would be able to cummunicate with some common sense on this website for once. Complete crap. So far I haven't noticed any change in the comments section. Still full of child like comments from closed minded idiots.
People post a comment like "I bought a PS3 yesterday. Can't wait to play it" and then they get people hitting the disagree button? Grow up people.

why anyone on here should care which console sells more copies of GTA? They will both sell millions and everyone involved will profit. All gamers will enjoy the game regardless of their console of choice..

Its not like Bluray vs HD-DVD here. If the PS3 sells more consoles than the 360, do you think MS are going to release a statement saying "Oh well it was fun while it lasted, but we will no longer be producing 360's"?
No, they will keep making and selling consoles and continue development of the next gen console, for your next "war".

If your hard drive breaks, all your movies are GONE!
If I scratch a disc, I only lose one movie.. I think I'll stick to actual media in my hand, like most people will.
People wanted music on the go and file sizes are small enough to download fast.
Sure people can do the same with movies, but for most people, they want the HD movie experience on their giant HDTV.
I quite often had the choice of pressinga few buttons on my remote and watching a movie on PPV for $3.99. Or I could go to my local Blockbuster and rent the DVD.
10 times out of 10, I went to blockbuster. Why? I can't even answer that... I just did.
So I do not see Apple, or MS or anyone else for that matter putting Blu-ray or dvd out of business.

regardless of your setup, if you have an HDTV and at least a decent 5.1 surround system BR is still a big step from SD DVD's.
I have 7.1 surround, and I only have 1080i tv thats almost 4 years old, but I notice a big difference in my viewing!
Edit: Also, all movie studios will have deals for downloading. downloading isn't something new! Its been co-exsisting with DVD's for al ong time now. The thing is it deosn't cost much to offer downloads as an option so why ...

Wake up people! PS3 and the 360 will both be around and have exclusive games for a long time.
Developers of Multi plat games ARE going to start needing more space, because they are going to start using the PS3 to its full potential. At least this way MS has a chance of keeping those Devs if they offer them HD-DVD.
If the 360 is going to last 6-7 years, they need more space to work with Devs, because once they start using PS3 and Blu-Ray, the 360 will suffer from this.
People didn't complain about upgrading to the Elite because it came equiped with HDMI.....
If they release a AAA title they can put it on a regular DVD. My point was they would only use it for games they currently cannot release!
If they release games on HD-DVD, it will obviously be games that don't fit on a regular DVD. In other words, it will only be games that would NOT have been on the 360 if they didn't upgrade.
And to say they shouldn't be releasing a new SKU when people are still buying current SKU's is nonsense. What should they do? Just wait a while before taking advantage of the technology?

Frequent movie RENTERS: Ask yourself one question. How often do you go to Blockbuster or your local video rental store, when you could push your four digit code on your cable remote and watch a movie on PPV? I know I go to Blockbuster 99.999999% of the time.
My point here is that physical media has always had competition from PPV, yet most people would rather have a disc in hand.
I do not want to buy 100 movies over the next 10 years and have them stored on a ha...
