- Would the PS3 be an extra $200 , if it wasn't for the blue-ray addition?

The Blu-ray drive definately added to the cost of the PS3 over the 360 but there where also other things as well like Wifi, HDMI 1.3 and larger HDD.

You seem to be arguing 2 different things. One is the hardware in the PS3 adds to the cost and then arguing the disc's themselves costing more to produce then HD-DVD. This use to be a complaint heard often here, that the PS3 games would be mo...

The PS2 is not in competition with the PS3. The PS2 is geared towards SDTV owners, where the PS3 is aimed at HDTV owners. Thus its 2 different markets. The SDTV market is about 75% of the over all market in NA. The 360 is basically going for the HDTV market as well, the Wii is the only "next gen" system that targets SDTV with a max resolution of 480p. Maybe thats why the Wii and PS2 are selling well compared to the 360 and PS3? Sure you can use a 360 and a PS3 on a SDTV but man...

Lets see for $600 I got a Blu-Ray player with HDMI 1.3, A game console with HDMI 1.3 with built in browser, a capable home computer running Linux, built in Wifi, 60 GB HDD that is replaceable with any off the self 2.5" PC drive.

So now I can go and buy a standalone Blu-ray player for $500. Wow boy do I feel ripped off...wait the blu-ray player plays blu-ray movies and thats it, it can't play games, surf the net, or run linux. Wow for only a $100 more I can do all that. ...

My hat off to Sony for finally making some advertising that actually showcases the PSN and the PS3 that gamers can relate to instead of the bizarre stuff we have been seeing.

Not sure if this is the greatest game ever but what this game does offer is the unpresidented ability for people to customize every aspect of the game. Not only with in game assets but with your own pictures and images. So you can build your own levels and then share them and play through them with your friends. In addition to all that it looks fun! Thats what is exciting to people.

If you don't get it that's fine not everyone likes every type of game but for those that do...

Your kind of comments add nothing to the site. Thammer1 did not get owned. He also had the decency to discuss and ask for clarification rather then to just spout hate. Not sure what your trying to accomplish with your comments because other then trying to make yourself feel better by putting others down you certainly are not changing Xbox 360 fans minds and your only giving PS3 fans a bad rep.

I mearly reported his behavior to the admins of the site, suggesting he be band for his behavior. It would appear they did ban him and thus he created a new account to continue his spamming and personal attacks.

What I said was Epic makes the Unreal Engine 3 to be licensed by other developers. As such the engines would have to be made to take advantage of each platform its designed for or why would a developer use it? Thus they have a PS3 UE3, a 360 UE3 and a PC UE3 engine. Each engine customized to take advantage of each platform.

Are you surprised by the runaway success of Unreal Engine 3?

Mark Rein: No. I know that doesn't sound very humble (laughs). You know, we'r...

Epic sells its gaming engine for other developers to create their games on. As such they would have 3 different game engines customized to take advantage of each system. So UT3 will be running on those customized engines and none will be ports.

Also as far as DX10 is concerned do you really think the 360 has a GPU that is DX10 compliant when they are just now being released for PC? There may be certain aspects of the DX10 capabilites that the GPU can take advantage of becaus...

I highly doubt people are going to buy a PS3 just for the community aspect. Communities are build around similar interests. For HOME that would be PS3 gaming and the PSN.

Further more to compare HOME to a MMO is just crazy talk. They are not even in the same ball park. HOME is a 3D interface for the PSN not a game.

Virin saying their AWOMO service will make PS3 Home look prehistoric is hype at this point. One is an exclusive service for PS3 owners with no ...

Madden I never had plans on getting this game. The review from IGN just reinforced why I would not. Even if IGN had given the game an 8 I would not have gotten the game. I mean even if I walked into a arcade today and they had the game just like it was when I played it back in the day I would not pump quarters into it. It simply does not interest me anymore. The one game I had thought about getting was Joust because that really was a fun game for me and I wanted my kids to experience some...

I have no idea why they even bother with some of these games. This game was fun in the day wiping the wheel around so I can totally relate that without the wheel it losses something.

I had thought about getting Joust but after seeing the trailer for it on my TV and how bad the graphics looked I changed my mind.

Save my money for Lair, NGS, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, HS, Rachet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction, Warhawk, Little Big Planet, Singstar, Folklore...

I really question this articles credibility.

VGOA claims Epic Threatens to Move Gears to PS3?

And states this.

Cliff Bleszinski of Epic has even been quoted as threatening Microsoft to port over GeOW to the PS3 to try to leverage some developer rights over the content of the game and XBox Live, but they have already inked the contract and Microsoft is winning much to the chagrin of Epic.

However the link that I would guess would prov...

Well I would say the really casual gamers do not even read game reviews. If you really want to hit this market then publishers should advertise their games like movies studio advertise movies, on tv ads. People see the trailer and go wow looks cool and goes and see's the movie based on what they saw in the trailer. Most people don't see a cool trailer and then go hmm I will wait for the reviews before I go see it. Most movie goers today I think have grown to distrust movie reviewers and h...

Ok just kidding.

Nice to see people recruiting for members on other sites. N4G also has a Folding Team 61588. We currently have 40 members and are ranked around 1600. I know we are not ranked as high but if you hang out on this site a lot and want to help our team, your efforts would be greatly appreciated.

Madden no you can only contribute to one team at a time. You can switch teams and any WU you had done for the previous team would stay with them and all fu...

Most people(gamers)talk about graphics but that has nothing to do with the review process. That's more an issue on what gamers focus on. Please don't get the 2 mixed up.

Game reviews I find cover many different aspects of a games make up and hence why they have categories. In IGN's case they are Presentation, Graphics, Sound, Gameplay, and Lasting Appeal. Do you think that just by them adding a fun category that this would suddenly change gamers focus away from graphics? F...

Reviews are more then just the score for each category. Reviewers give their personal impressions on if the game is fun or not. While it might not have its own category of ratings it certainly a factor in the review.

Here is IGN's review on Calling All Cars.

"Until now, that is. Calling All Cars is Sony's first truly original, must-have title on the PlayStation Network, and it bests just about everything there is to be found on Microsoft's online arcade ce...

Wow you 360 fans really show how understanding and non threatening you really are. You certainly don't act with agression, name calling, etc. Surely this person is mistaken then? Actually you just prove his point. You also attack the SPG and act like MS does not do similar type of activities. Isn't MS suppost to be spending big bucks on its viral marketing campain against Sony?

Now that is not to say that I have not seen Sony fans act the exact same way towards the 360 wit...

No it should not. The game/expansion is called Echoes of Faydwer. If the Echoes are silent on the PS3 that would indicate the game is not going to the PS3. What your saying would only make sense if the game was called Faydwer's Echoes Silent which its not.
