That is not an incorrect statement, but there is a big time span between CES and E3, from January to Summer 2012 when E3 rolls around, a lot can change.
If Sony feels the pressure come April / May, there is no reason they couldn't show the PS4, one would have to assume at this point it is well-along in development.
If either Sony or MS were going to announce their next consoles at E3 2012, I strongly believe both companies would deny deny deny right up until they unveil it.
Why give Nintendo the opportunity to prepare?
I agree, before 2012 is out I feel as if both Microsoft and Sony are going to unveil their next-gen consoles. It is only a matter of time.
Agree, but the surprise / shock factor is still in play if they decided to make the move. They are not going to say "we are showing the PS4 at E3 2012, get ready!"
very good point that is true, Nintendo is not known for taking a loss on consoles.
I agree in a lot of what you are saying, but I believe the Wii U is going to need a lot more than ports (although they will be improved ports) of games people have already played through to justify the price of the console and games.
I feel as if $350 - $400 is too much for the Wii U, they need to establish an installed user base quickly to gain an edge on the PS4 / Xbox 720 before they come out at likely similar price points.
A $299 price point would be best here.
Nintendo is clearly going for more than the "kids and soccer moms" with the Wii U, especially with the way it has been presented thus far.
They are looking for more of the hardcore gamers it appears this time around.
The "kids and soccer moms" are going to be intimidated by the tablet-based controller.
"I do hope they announce something, so all these rumors can stop or at very least not be so ridiculous. " ...
