I agree on Skies. I remember how great that game was. I was actually a little bummed when it went to Gamecube, because it was such a great exclusive! Of course so did RE:CV, Grandia II and some others.

It's true. Sony pretty much owned the US to the point that they drove SEGA out of hardware (along with poor business decisions on SEGA's part) and had Nintendo on the ropes in the US last gen.
PSone and PS2 were completely dominant in the US. The PS3 is like the 3rd generation dictator that couldn't hold off the rebels.
Portables outsell home consoles if they have the Nintendo logo somewhere on them. WonderSwan, Lynx, GameGear and many others are examples that only Nintendo handhelds dominate.
Weird that the PSP has outsold the PS3 in the US though.

Darwinia + was a serious sleeper hit. Probably one of the more original games out there. Some big misses though.

I almost agree, but from a logical point of view, they're both marketed and utilized differently. It's like saying HDTV copied digital watches because they both display info. They're different.
Sadly so many kids start up a wordpress or joomla blog (or worse CCMS) and think they'll be the next IGN within a month because they have 2 friends and they post as 8 different people on their new forums.
