I'm pretty sure if Microsoft made an Xbox 360 Slim, they would start from scratch with the hardware. Why would they spend so much time and money on an Xbox 360 Slim if they knew it was going to RROD? It's obvious they would sort that out in the process of making the new Xbox 360.
