A dry spell is a few months of slow times. So Sony and Nintendo experience that here and there, especially during the beginning of a Gen. Dry spell isn't the right word for MS though, by the time you reach decade(s) you've definitely necessitated a new term altogether

Lightning,

"Of course it needs to be exclusive to have fun." No silly, it needs to be exclusive to justify buying the damn system in the first place, otherwise I'd buy it and play it elsewhere, duhhh 🤣

They do seem to have a longer list of UI's than they have first party exclusives. Eh whatever though, that's how Xbox stans like it otherwise they'd complain

If they push it back again it'll probably be more like "Q3 2023 and we'll make sure to update you on the next delay basically the day before Q3 begins"

I've been waiting on the patch too, been attempting to not play the game again until it's out but when I decided that I didn't think I'd be waiting 3 years for one patch

@brewin
Context my friend. Context

On PS4 Sony was already doing the multimedia stuff too, they weren't mocking that. They were mocking the fact that it's all Xbox One really had, which is pretty dumb for a GAME console. So in context, bring the games first and then you can talk about the extras offered.

And as sinspirit said, people have really short memories of the time team Xbox wanted to own your physical discs so you couldn't ev...

It's so they can dig at Sony every chance so they can remind us they're better. Meanwhile they can't even manage Halo

The problem is 343 was hand picked specifically to take MS's singularly most golden franchise and make it soar to new heights. They bombed at their only goal and honestly probably shouldn't exist whatsoever. Split the actual talent into studios they'd actually enjoy working for and move on, the studio is a bust and Halo is going to not even matter to MS anyway after the Activision acquisition

@Gangsta

"And none of them intended to put their game on GP in the first place"

Firstly, you're making sh*t up right in front of us. Don't even pretend otherwise either because you know every company runs numbers to determine how to position their investment to see the highest returns possible. If their equations tell them that GP will make them the money bags like you pretend to know it automatically will, then why on earth would anyone...

For a second I thought I saw Ubi doing something original, but it was just a mirage

I'm thinking Xbox guys are starting to legit think everything will release on GP so they don't spend money anymore and just wait. But onto the point of the article existing,
maybe it's worth mentioning when devs directly state that they'd make less out the box on GP since it directly contradicts what many business gurus on this site say

So we need a bunch of devs to close their doors before gangsta can maybe kind of comprehend that you make less on a subscription service? Step back from the Xbox fanboying and look at any other industry with subscriptions, never once was the subscription created in order to pass the profits on to the dev, the service was created to give more profit to the service creator, while skimping the artists returns relative to what they'd get otherwise. Any other industry, that's so obvious yo...

All that matters is the margins. They invested $122M to simply rake in 14% of their profits from here on out.
Insomniac is a permanent and never ending expense that sees huge bursts of revenue once every year or two.
So essentially, a one time fee that never stops paying you back, and an ongoing investment with it's bursts of income here and there. Both are going to be profitable, both are a win for Sonys bottom line

628d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

If I were Sony I definitely wouldn't pass on all the profits they'll get just because they don't want the novelty of a black suit to wear off

Won't stop them from announcing fallout 5 next year, and then release it in 2033

Even when Skyrim released it's mechanics were boring as hell and archaic. Unfortunately they haven't updated that portion of their games since morrowind. When it comes to Bethesda we're playing PS2 level engines with launch PS3 graphics and it's been the same since before half the people on this site were even born

What exactly is the rip off in the lawsuit? If I go on the store, much like on steam or on Xbox there's sales going 24/7 for at least the last straight year. I haven't paid full price for a game this gen aside from elden ring, and I have yet to notice anything that really stands out in terms of being priced higher than on another store.

This is n4g so I have to clarify that I'm genuinely asking, but which *specific* games and in game purchases are they saying i...
