Being a red-blooded male, and one more attracted to animated characters, I don't mind skimpy outfits to a point. Well, they did say that the games released on Nintendo would be more story-heavy, and the ones released on Sony would be lighter in tone, so if it is more suggestive than they're saying, it's not terribly surprising. On the other hand, youtube has tons of gameplay videos of this from when it was released in Japan.
Shinovi Versus being my first SK game, I quite enjoyed it. I got the two 3DS games after and still enjoy all three. The aerial ninja arts in the 3DS games do add more variety to the attacks, but I don't think Shinovi Versus is less for not having them.
