An economic recession won't kill blu-ray; an economic DEPRESSION however (DOW drops below 5000) would have a reasonably negative impact on sales. The average person hasn't seen enough personal damage to finances to warrant a reduction in luxury purchases. Netbooks are the coolest things ever and i just might fetch one for myself this christmas, perfect for college classrooms, airports and coffeeshops to email, youtube and word process. Anything more demanding goes straight to my $1000 custom build desktop at home.
