like SuperBeast said hardcore gears fans first and foremost - i don't imagine many new to the series will jump at this
also you could say same for any DLC, average 800MSP - 1200MSP, whether COD, LA Noire or Gears you dunno it's a dud till you buy it.
those 'into' gears will get the DLC anyway as core gamerbase will be segmented into the all inclusive playlists/maps, some maps WILL be meh but horde ignores map symmetry etc and is all about surv...
come on guys, several footballers have peripheral vision like that, none of the 'wedges' went full 360 so directly behind is always a blind spot but players like xavi constantly glance almost 360 degrees BEFORE receiving a pass so have already seen an overlapping run start a good 2 seconds before receiving a pass and finding alves without looking cos he's 'read' the play seconds ago

it WOULD 'defeat the purpose' and completely nullify the "YOU are the controller" pitch cos a peripheral puts it in the same class as the wii/move in consumer perception ...sensor + hand held peripheral, further pushing up the total cost for what is an 'active' 2 player experience.

blur's mechanics are proven in mario kart, attack/counter at any point in the race, this on the other hand is a one trick pony, 'power plays' to my knowledge can't be countered? you can't even see them coming? they become active at the same fixed hazard points along the lap - boring after 1 lap, even for an arcade racer the oversteer is insanely temperamental and drifting sucks ...mario has the sparks, blur has it alright with the screeching and effect, this just sways with no real sensation ...

it's even more hilarious that. the first guy to celebrate was sagat when he realised he'd blocked vipers ultra so as she comes down you can see Sagat go slow mo into his ultra to finish off viper -BUT- that missed and while the screen is obscurred Viper obviously finishes off Sagat (who was celebrating) so Viper won this match.

dunno if you've played the game but I think a factor in weighing up gears 'confrontations' is how long and how many rounds it takes to drop a locust not to mention a boomer ...a full clip on active reload even, these guys are massive,
that's not to say there aren't those open areas filled with wave after wave of baddies c'mon! every few minutes you'd come out of the 'corridor phase' into the 'courtyard phase' and have to take down more than 10 at a time - play the game.

as has been pointed out this is simply being spun by 3rd party interpretation it is logical to asume that the 360 exclusivity refers ONLY to the downladble content even though he mentions multiplayer and downloadble in the same sentence ...as in this case (quoted from post below)

it's been written many times that UT's been struggling on PC and if you watch most of marc rein's interviews he always seems desperate to flog it on the ps3 and hopefully the 360 - I dont think it will do anything near uncharted in sales and 360 will get GeOW2 soon so it'll have a really limited lifespan + COD4 is still the console FPS of choice
